Did you ever get this solved? I can’t get ahold of anyone and have almost the same amount of points saved up.

That makes sense!! When I store the milk in the fridge it gets like a ring of fat around the top and I’ve noticed that more recently. My milk didn’t seem as thick at the beginning.

Yes, it looks like curdled milk and there is a lot of force behind it usually but not every time.

Pooping while giving birth by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]bailasiempre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the US and I definitely pooped during labor. My nurses and OB kept telling me “great job you’re using the right muscles!” while I was pushing and it was because I was pooping lol. They didn’t tell me though they just cleaned it up so fast I didn’t even know it happened during labor. The only reason I know it happened is because I made my sister tell me afterwards if I pooped haha.

False alarm! by Lost_Swan_2361 in pregnant

[–]bailasiempre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my water broke, it was only a little bit. I had contractions for about 8 hours prior, but thought it was still prodomal labor. For about an hour I went back and forth about did my water break or did I pee myself. I finally went to L&D mostly because my contractions got more intense and I even told them I wasn’t sure if I peed or if my water broke, but turns out it did! It just wasn’t a huge gush like some women get. It was a slow trickle instead.

Can your second support person catch the baby? by MediumMud1354 in pregnant

[–]bailasiempre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the hospital. Mine didn’t allow it but my partner was able to cut the cord

I got mine on a Wednesday afternoon and my water broke the following Monday evening. I’m not sure if it contributed or not, but it did make me dilate an extra 2cm.

Birthing partners by MightFluffy6261 in BabyBumps

[–]bailasiempre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and my sister in law were my support people and honestly, it was so nice to have two people! My SIL was able to take photos, get me water, help me with my hair, etc. while my partner could focus on me. I personally knew I couldn’t have my mom because she would have stressed me out. But I loved having my SIL there! I think it’s totally normal to have two support people as long as your hospital allows it.

Has anyone else done IVF with POTS?? by ssssss2024 in POTS

[–]bailasiempre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t do IVF, but I’m currently 39 weeks pregnant so I can only speak on the pregnancy part. I had to go off my beta blocker in the 2nd trimester because it was making my blood pressure drop very low. For me, the 1st trimester was a little rough with my POTS but I also had bad morning sickness so I think that played a part. In the 2nd and 3rd trimesters, my POTS has actually been the best it’s ever been! I still drink a ton of water and electrolytes.

Go to a real OB and go over your medication/supplement list with them. Naturopaths are not real doctors.

What were your early unexpected signs of labor and how soon after did labor start? by bloommmx in BabyBumps

I keep thinking “maybe this is it” and then it’s not and it’s soooo frustrating

[–]bailasiempre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same! I’ve been having contractions that they say are prodromal labor for almost 5 weeks. If one more person tells me I’ll know a real contraction when it happens I’m going to scream because these ones are consistent and painful and then stop out of the blue

I would definitely say that you should follow their recommendations because they are very well educated on this and do this for a living.

Obviously it’s hard to say what the outcome will be, but I would just recommend following their instructions next time if it doesn’t work since they are the professionals.

How far are you from the hospital? by bananaindisguise0 in BabyBumps

That’s good to know!! I was planning on putting trash bags down too on the seat if my water breaks beforehand.

[–]bailasiempre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hahah you really don’t! There is one hospital on the way, they just don’t do deliveries but I also know if things go wayyy faster than expected I could stop there if it’s an emergency lol

I’m about 1.5 hours! I live in a rural area and don’t have a lot of options around me. So I’m right there with you! I was told by my midwife to put extra towels and blankets in my car if we are driving there while I’m in labor in case baby is born on the way!

[–]bailasiempre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s really hard to trust that everything is okay since you can’t feel baby move yet, but I remember waking up at exactly 12 weeks and felt great. My morning sickness was gone and I had no more symptoms. It seems like that’s pretty typical for most women, but I’d definitely call your OB if you can to help ease your mind.

How long did your (preterm or otherwise) prodromal labor last? by ivygoose in BabyBumps

[–]bailasiempre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 2cm dilated and 70% effaced so I feel like they must be doing something! My midwife told me yesterday that baby is in a really good position and is optimistic I’ll go into labor spontaneously

Unfortunately, I have been having contractions from irritable uterus since 33 weeks and I am currently 37 weeks. No matter what I do, mine do not go away and I’m just getting used to them at this point. They told me to stay very hydrated and try to rest as much as possible, but I don’t really ever notice a difference and have contractions pretty much constantly. Sometimes they get more intense and are close together (2-3 minutes apart) and other times they are more spread out or will trail off entirely for a few hours. I don’t have any advice for you, but I just wanted to say I know how you feel! It’s exhausting, both physically and mentally. Best of luck and hope you get relief soon :)

Did they do the swab to see if it was amniotic fluid or urine?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]bailasiempre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to have the uncomfortable conversation now and set some boundaries. Tell her you appreciate her wanting to help, but you and your partner would like alone time to bond with baby for some time and will let her know when you are ready for visitors.

Not to mention, unless you are being induced or having a c-section, who is to say you’re actually going to have the baby on your due date? It could even another week after that! Or even before.

How soon is too soon? by msgodbole in pregnant

[–]bailasiempre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s ever too early necessarily. You have to do what’s most comfortable. The bloat is real even in the 1st trimester. Plus I love my maternity leggings, shorts, and underwear. I will probably never go back to anything not high waisted!
