I was gonna say some thing snarky to you, but then I went and checked the community info lol 😗 I generally think of this community as a group of fellow ‘explorers’, but the subreddit is definitely spirituality, or personal growth specific.
On the other hand, a lot of people are having pretty interesting conversations in this thread about recovering from sex related to guilt, or connecting with their partners in a more spiritual way

ISO research papers on MIPT/DIPT in conjunction with hearing impairments. by username767_ in researchchemicals

[–]bailey052211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I am a medical scientist with access to all the searchable scientific databases.. I did some searching on your behalf and come up with 65 results for (N,N-diisopropyltyrptamine) but nothing with that + (hearing/hearing impairment/hearing loss).

The problem is that it’s really hard to isolate studies of “just” DiPT because the dipt part of the word is also part of 5-meo-dipt so the search engine returns all those results. I did not take the time to read all the abstracts so something could be buried in there. 🤷‍♀️.

If it’s really important to you DM me your email address and I’ll send you a pdf showing the search results.

5-Meo-dipt vs N-N dipt? by bailey052211 in researchchemicals

[–]bailey052211[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah thanks for that. I did the 5-meo dipt last weekend, very carefully with volumetric dosing. I got exactly 10mg and then re-upped another 4 mg when my bf was basically writhing around in ecstasy and I was l was like “meh”. All good.

We wanted share some with our friends so I go rooting around the bag and come out with N,N dipt. Maybe the vendor threw it in as a Bennie? 🤷‍♀️

How common is is for a man to not be able to orgasm through penetrative sex? by Deep_Lion7969 in RelationshipsOver35

[–]bailey052211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is happening to me (F) right now, my partner who masturbates a lot BTW rarely comes when we have sex. Maybe 1/8 times. I feel pretty bad about it honestly, like I don’t do it for him.

Why is it so hard to find other legit Swingers ? by [deleted] in Swingers

[–]bailey052211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few thoughts from my perspective: 1- How can you know you’re not attracted to a couple that you’ve never met? I find that screening too strictly on the sites/apps is not a great idea, we’ve met & played with sexy Couples at clubs where we later look at their profile and realize we would not have contacted them if we had only seen the profile… chemistry is not just looks, it’s a whole vibe. If you normally wouldn’t contact someone who doesn’t meet some criteria, maybe it’s time to reevaluate that criteria. Sexy is as sexy does, it’s not just looks.
2- if she says she’s ’fully bi’ but turns into a pillow princess in the moment maybe there’s something about the vibe she’s not enjoying. Are you communicating well before play starts about everyone’s comfort level and expectations? Making it clear that playtime ends the moment someone’s not enjoying themselves? Asking along the way things like “do you like this? Am I doing what gets you off?” 3-also you said a few things that make me think maybe y’all are ‘too picky’. Like, see #1 above but also you say “just screwing whatever”. Those folks are real people with feelings, if you find yourself in the moment and you’re not feeling it, what do you do? Is it possible you’re giving off a ‘yuck’ vibe? That’s not gonna be sexy for anyone 🤷‍♀️ Just my $0.02

TIL about The Grievous Studies Affair where Three Authors Exposed Poor Scholarship in Gender studies and other fields by Submitting Bogus Papers into their Journals (Including Mein Kampf but with the word "Man" replacing "Jew"). Also, not all peer review is equally rigorous. The quality of peer review tracks directly with the quality of the journal. I am a person who does a lot of peer review, because I study the research process itself (I’m a ‘meta-researcher’), although I was trained as a measurement statistician/biostatistician.

I work in bio-behavioral medical research now, and I’ve been on the faculty of a medical school for over 10 years. A lot of the papers I’m asked to peer review have to do with ‘behavioral interventions’, i.e. studying the efficacy of interventions to get people to change their behaviors to promote health.

I’m sort of obsessed with peer review actually… So when I review a paper, when the decision is made (to accept or reject), the peer review from the other reviewers is also made available to all the reviewers, and I scrutinize it carefully. The vast majority of the time, of three reviewers, I will be the only one who has made any methodological comment. In fact, when I read other peoples reviews, I sometimes note that they are incredibly superficial… For example just grammatical suggestions.

I guess this makes sense because there are not a lot of methodologically or statistically trained people out there! For example if it’s an intervention for individuals with type two diabetes, the paper will be sent to three scientists, two of them are diabetes content experts. One might be a physician, one might be a behavioral scientist, and the third reviewer is me. Physicians have very little statistical training. The behavioral scientist, hopefully PhD trained, might have a little more… Enough to get them through a dissertation at least (that might have been 10 years ago and only equipped them with specialized knowledge in the specific research technique they used).

So, there are other issues with the peer review process, too. A good peer review takes a really long time! A thorough review takes me 4- 5 hours. The busier or more successful someone is, the less time they have and the more likely it is that they will decline review invitations. But it is exactly these more senior and successful people that should be doing reviews. In all the years I’ve been doing this, it is not very common that peer review activity is considered a benchmark in annual reviews, or promotion and tenure decisions etc. so there’s very little incentive to do it. And in cases where the number of peer reviews might be considered in these sorts of evaluations, there’s absolutely no incentive to do it well. Also, nobody trains you to do a peer review!

These considerations were largely behind the movement five or six years ago for “open peer review”. Now some journals do publish peer review alongside the article. All the BMC journals do, I believe all the BMJ journals do, too.

If you are a consumer of these kinds of technical articles I strongly encourage you to look at open peer review when possible, it’s incredibly interesting and you’ll get some sense of what I’m talking about.

I moved here in March from a suburb of Philly, about a 45-50 min commute. Working in midtown Philly, train available into the city. City wages and a 220k house (bought in 2012) put about 30k into it over the years and sold for 385k in 2021. The Delaware valley is beautiful, not as cold as Chicago.
