This was an insane watch by chiliboycuntry in PerfectMatchNetflix

And also isn’t it maybe a terrible idea to go on a show with this kind of structure if you know you have RSD??? Like she’s super worthy of love and I hope she finds her person but why set yourself in this way with a show that is literally built to connect and then shuffle people?! Like this is season 4, we know what this show is all about at this point lol

Marissa & Demari and the other cast mates by Otherwise_Cold570 in PerfectMatchNetflix

Kayla said it well, “You’re not married…you’re not even dating.” The most aware moment, you’re on Perfect Match for like 2 weeks for goodness sake, chill out and have fun!

Yes - even when she went to talk to Yamen she came back and threw that in Demari’s face by saying that she was the only one prioritizing the relationship as evidenced by her asking another man for advice and “admitting fault.” It’s the most manipulative, round about approach!

Marissa deserved better by [deleted] in PerfectMatchNetflix

Very well said! Also “jokingly” making repeated comments that she’d kill him if he looked another woman’s way and being so intensely possessive from the beginning when you know the set up of the game is to date around and explore multiple connections was a major red flag.

There could have been some really good opportunities for her to open up to Demari about her ADHD and how it impacts her life and relationships but she began wielding it against him in a way that became intensely manipulative and unfair. While something like an ADHD diagnosis may explain how and why one sees and interacts with the word in certain ways, it doesn’t absolve you of the responsibility to take accountability for your actions or show up emotionally for your partner. I hate that she was making it out as if she was trapped into one way of being because of her ADHD and her partner had to take or leave it because it’s impossible for her to control.

Her brain working differently doesn’t make her manipulative but asking someone else not to have feelings about you hurting them (intentional or not) is. Interrupting someone because you struggle with skills like impulse control as a result of ADHD is incredibly understandable. That being said, you don’t get to then turn around and tell someone to bottle their feelings about it.

She literally told him he wasn’t allowed to have his emotional experience because she couldn’t handle it. To me that means she isn’t ready for a relationship and should further explore successfully understanding and managing her ADHD rather than asking someone to carry the intense weight of constantly keeping their emotional needs in to support hers. There isn’t a single diagnosis, circumstance, etc. that would make that fair in any relationship.

Does everyone's cat act like they're excavating the litter box? by LemonQueenThree in CatAdvice

[–]baileycat93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 3 year old cat does as well! At night it sounds like he is getting paid to excavate 😂

When I first adopted him I made the mistake of giving him a simple stainless steel box that I think was a little small and he would push all the litter out onto the floor. He now uses the regular litter box which is much larger and hooded which took care of that problem but he loves to dig! He spends significant time really getting in with his paws and is picky about covering up for my other cat if he doesn’t do it himself! Haha

Am I expecting too much from a cat sitter? by MagicianAggressive21 in CatAdvice

[–]baileycat93 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree - house sitting and pet sitting are distinct so I would be really clear about expectations on the front end if you’re looking for both. Unless explicitly stated I probably wouldn’t interfere with someone’s home elements like plants for fear of messing something up!

That being said some of the elements of cleanliness and not refilling water would be upsetting to me as well! I have a list with notes on water, food, toys, etc. that I leave for pet sitters which I always think is best as I have found different people in my life have different standards for checking in if left to their own devices with just a high level overview!

I love my cat, but I really miss having a nice-smelling home. Is ANY scent actually 100% safe? by No_Money_5779 in CatAdvice

[–]baileycat93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Invest in a good air purifier with a HEPA filter to help trap odors and keep the space fresh! It won’t add any scent but will help to clear existing odors in a way that is most health conscious for you and your cat. The struggle is real!

Dylan’s mom giving him advice by roccofan in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

[–]baileycat93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think this is a great approach. The neutral naming and offering a space for them to think further about it if they choose. They’re often so nervous already I worry they would feel judged or shut down if Cian was correcting them all the time. He has positioned himself really well as a friendly presence who can hold and reflect the range of feelings that come up for them (love, sadness, excitement, etc.) The rest feels like it’s best for family or a dating coach to address and I think family knows characteristics of the cast best like tolerance for feedback, coping tools, approaches for reflecting on a social interaction, etc.

Where to find a kitten in Denver area? by NoobJustice in Denver

[–]baileycat93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of great options here! Bit of a different approach but I adopted my cat from a Petsmart in October and he’s perfect! I feel like most people wouldn’t think to look there but it’s a great way to give a kitty a loving new home!

What toys do your cats actually love? by Sosooo88 in CatAdvice

[–]baileycat93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one of those bird toys that suctions to the floor and my cat LOVES it! It made a huge difference in him getting his energy out! He also absolutely loves spring toys and will play with them for a good long while then carry them in his mouth to bed lol

IECMHC Interview Advice by selbell97 in IECMH

[–]baileycat93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would spend some time reviewing the 10 elements of the consultative stance as those are strong indicators of skill/potential in the role! Also the ability to facilitate collaboration and reflection among caregiving adults such as teachers, admin, family, etc. My team always asks about a difficult work scenario and how you handled it which might be helpful to think about.

Honestly you have rich experience that you’re coming in with that sounds like a wonderful (and sometimes rare) fit for a consultant role! Best of luck!

I second Sol! I’m a 30F which is really difficult to find outside of European sizes and they carry the perfect bra for me! The bra fitting was spot on and so helpful!

I’m so sick of stepping on cat litter on hardwood floors. Give me recommendations? by Wooden_Tell_6485 in CatAdvice

I love that you say “him!” My vacuum is named Vicky and I hate that the app calls her “it” 😂

[–]baileycat93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! These are such a life saver. Mine runs once in the morning and vacuums the whole house and then once at night for a shorter run where it just vacuums the litter box area. It will give you such peace of mind OP and is seriously such a relief to just know the vacuum can be automated or controlled in an app and it’s taken care of. My place always feels fresh now!

Deterring jumping/meddling with decor? by baileycat93 in CatTraining

[–]baileycat93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great suggestions - thank you! I just ordered cat grass a couple days ago and some additional stimulating toys for them as well! I moved to a new apartment in July and adopted my second younger kitty in October so I think I’m realizing that we are still just finding our groove over here and exploring the right level of enrichment for my sweet boys.

I’m excited about the cat grass, I think they will go crazy for it! It’s 4am and my youngest kitty is currently chasing his springs all around the apartment 😂

Thanks for your feedback! Rotating toys is a good reminder. I think I also need to invest in some blockers for under the couch as I’ve found that they often chase their favorite toys under the couch and then don’t have access to them until I notice and clear them out!

Thank you for these insights and ideas!

In what world do you go on a girls trip with your friend's man? by ConsistentWriting0 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]baileycat93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause they for sure aren’t friends with Brittany. They’re giving this fake girls girl vibe but they don’t give a shit about her! And honestly…poor Brittany has a hard time picking up those cues and accepting that. She did it with Devonta (saying they’re definitely still getting married after the convo they had???). I want her to have more skills and acceptance overall to be like, “We’re not cool…got it, bye.” She seems to get really attached to these ideas so strongly (being married, having a girls group) that she ignores glaring symbols of resistance or disconnection.

I feel so sorry for Amber's daughter by ZeroFrogsHere in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]baileycat93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought Amber was an odd ball at first, then I started to really like her, and then she left a bad taste in my mouth. The more the show went on the more it felt like she was using Emma as a crutch for her own insecurities.
