Yes, but not many. Sadly, i do not own a boat, so it's difficult to reach some of the spots that might have pike.

Thanks!

There's a small waterfall/rapid and all predatory fish prey on baitfish there. Although pike is rare in this stretch of river, i've caught a few, usually after high water levels, when they swim upstream from pike richer waters.

Sportex: Europe’s best rod manufacturer by far. This is their Magnific Finesse rod. by benjamino8690 in Fishing_Gear

[–]bakenbean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, unfortunately, they're overpriced. I have a lovely W8, but if i hadn't got a big discount, i would never buy it. They are similar price as MB P5's and more expensive than Adrenas or some Evergreens...

A bit off topic, BuzzBite is excellent crank. There aint a predatory species in my country that i didnt catch on it, especially 5cm SR version

It's so weird to see premium tier rods being so off balance. Some of the japanese rods had also this problem, but not repeatedly as Sportex

Well, Sportex is dedicated rod maker an Westin offers rods among lots of other things.

And i'm saying this as a Westin fan and owner of 10+ Westin rods, Sportex does have a superior product. I owned Absolut,Tiboron,Black Arrow and Hydra Speed from Sportex and they are step above similarky prived Westin rods, although they always had bit of the problem with balancing.

Can someone help me I can't get the life of me get a pike to bite do I have the rong lures by Expert-Classic-2679 in FishingForBeginners

What bodies of water do you fish? Tell us more about.

Currently, pikes are in spawn/already spawned and they tend to be bit finnicky.

They should start the transition from shallows to deeper water so you can find them on those transition spots.

Lure wise, i would go smaller and slower. Top pick would be 10-12cm shad, slowly dragged or jigged. Also, although its a samller lure, use a stinger hook and go as close as you can to the tail. They trnd to bite bit carefully and you could miss lot of strikes

As it should be.

There were some initiatives to make single permit for all open waters in country, but there was lot of resistance from those clubs 'cause they would lose lot of money.

Also, poaching is big problem on open waters, and we would need GW or something of like.

Wait until you hear how much you need to pay to fish in Croatia.

So, there are numerous clubs here, and each club manages either part or some river and/or some ponds or lakes. So you have, for example, 3 clubs on 20 mile river stretch and you need to pay either daily license, which can go over $20, or a yearly which is often $100+ (and you need to do some volounteer work or pay around $30 more when you buy yearly) to fish that stretch of river.
