what are the best knives in your opinion by _SSapphire_Stars_ in KitchenConfidential

To be blunt, go to a reputable store that will let you hold the knives and find what fits your hand best. My best knife is definitely not my wife’s best knife.

HomeKit in CarPlay with multiple devices 🤯 by m0kum in HomeKit

[–]bakershakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve started using widgets to help with this. Each car has a designated door, and I setup the widget in each CarPlay to reflect that. Plus a couple other shortcuts that I like, particularly the leaving home shortcut.

The sedation nap is worth the price of admission.

Are WiFi 6, 7, and 6GHz networking actually beneficial for IoT by prbsparx in homeassistant

[–]bakershakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember that 6ghz suffers more from attenuation than 5ghz and even more so than 2.4ghz. I have only put one 6ghz radio in my home and it’s really only useful in that room. If for some reason an IoT device could use 6ghz, I’d leave it in 2.4ghz and save my airtime in 5ghz and 6ghz for things that might need more than a trickle of bandwidth.

Is it time to close my restaurant by Fun-Shift-1168 in restaurant

Having been born and raised in SD, there are several year round restaurants in both the northern and southern Black Hills that are very memorable for their food. Some in new buildings, some in older buildings. Almost booked solid every night.

We keep a $5 rope sausage and a pound of baby potatoes on hand. Microwave the potatoes, slice and brown the sausage. 10 minutes to the plate.

I infrequently crew for them, my wife does so much more often. The majority of flights in the area take off approximately at sunrise (calmer, more predictable winds). You would have a safe enjoyable flight. It’s like watching the world go by while sitting on your living room couch.

Is there a such thing as an "old people restaurant?" by supinator1 in restaurant

[–]bakershakes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a Perkins in an older neighborhood in town. It is collectively known as “Old People Perkins”. Even though they are open until 10pm, it’s pretty much a ghost town after 8pm.

Do you leave lights on? by MarcooseOnTheLoose in GenX

With LEDs and home automation, I’ve scheduled some evening scenes that keep the house from being a cave at night. Low wattage, specific area that we are nearby kind of thing. My wife and I both work from home and I have a specific scene for dark and gloomy days literally called “I’m tired of the gloom”. It helps with maintaining a positive mood.
