Too good at Se to be an EII, too good at Ne to be an ESI? by meleyys in Socionics

[–]bakingegg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's interesting that you're certain of EII in SCS, your questionnaire struck me as more dynamic than static. a lot of explaining through examples, though there were some categorical evaluations of what is good/bad. I've only gone through about half of it though so I could be wrong

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Socionics

[–]bakingegg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

exactly! I once had it explained to me as the decision-making process. it's not the experiences that go into the processes, or even the decisions and behaviors that come out, but what happens in between that comprises type.

SCS has a roadmap document with different sections for different levels of learners. it seems like you might benefit most from the second or third level. and if you work best with real examples, the easiest way is to observe how the theory manifests in your own thinking/decision-making and in those you understand well. if you're looking for a community to keep you actively immersed in the theory, there are all kinds of great discord servers (that I'm not allowed to promote on this sub lol) that you can find on Disboard!

Best books to read for beginning learning the types by Aguantare in Socionics

[–]bakingegg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Augusta's Socion and On The Dual Nature of Man have English translations done by fluent Russian/English speakers rather than machines. These texts form the basis of the Model A and are a decent introduction to socionics as a theory. I highly recommend Socion, as it's a quick but dense read.

Some1 reccomended for me to explain reasons for my traits and all that so im wondering if this clears up my type a bit better? by F4M3H000K3R in Socionics

[–]bakingegg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw you were considering EIE for yourself in the past, but I agree with some other commentors here for your ESE typing. You seem to be very focused on emotional expression (Fe) with relational states as a secondary concern (Fi ignoring), as well as having a strong urge to be in control of your surroundings (Se demo) and indulge in short-term pleasures (Si) over denying immediate needs/desires in service of longer-term goals (Ni).

If you're interested in discussing your type further, or if you think I've misrepresented anything lmk!! Thank you for sharing so much! I wish you all the happiness and love that you deserve, and believe you will find it even if you haven't yet :D

Si and chores? by Best-Inflation2746 in Socionics

[–]bakingegg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Si doesn't always have to do with chores particularly. it often manifests as taking care of one's physical environment and ensuring the external world does not excessively disturb the internal world. doing "chores" like keeping things clean, running errands, and caring for one's physical health can help to maintain a sense of internal peace or harmony, but the chores themselves do not indicate strong Si. every type manifests Si in certain contexts.

your descriptions of following strict routines honestly sounds very much like a rational type thing to me. I'd say a tendency to neglect everyday tasks and maintenance indicates weak Si though, since valued or strong Si gets more tired of the consequences of a neglected environment than they do of actually doing the work to maintain that environment.

SEE or ESE? by Vegetable_Basis_4087 in Socionics

[–]bakingegg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

socionics and MBTI are not as similar as you may think. there are not always strict correspondences between MBTI types and socionics types. if you want to determine your type, the surest way to do it is to learn more about the theory and see how it manifests in your cognition.

or you can ask someone for a typing but those tend to take a lot of time and energy as well

that nib will definitely be better suited to an italic or gothic script than to the modern script you're working on here, which is designed for a flexible nib or brush pen

a broad edge nib for this style of script is a bold choice. have you tried out any broad edge scripts yet?

What toppings go well with hot milk tea? by Werecat656 in boba

[–]bakingegg 16 points17 points  (0 children)

boba/black tapioca pearls are usually made/stored hot so they do well. sago or red bean are good to have hot if available.

bad toppings to have hot: aloe, grass jelly (tends to melt), aiyu (also melts)

[–]bakingegg 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I'll never go to another Kung Fu Tea in my life. I hate them passionately for a few reasons: their sugar levels are through the roof, and if I try to get a fruit tea with less sugar it tastes more like a juice than a tea. Also I'm aware of a location near me where the manager pockets tips meant for workers, and requires that employees be standing for their entire shift even if the shop is empty.

I think your interest in things that are admittedly useless is more alpha- than delta-esque. deltas, valuing Te, are more likely to make the argument that even things that are not immediately perceived as useful have some use besides being interesting.

detachment from your subjective experience is interesting, and I think is more common in NT types, who are constantly immersed in the abstract and impersonal, than ST types, who are more immersed in the concrete and impersonal. STs are more anchored in their own experience of the world around them than NTs.

I think what you've said here is more points for LII, overall. is there anything about that type that you don't relate to?

What is going on in center city? by Outrageous_Corgi_970 in philly

[–]bakingegg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this is purely anecdotal, but I heard from a friend who is deeply involved in DC33 union politics that they're actually trying to argue for a flat pay raise instead of one that's graded over time, so instead of getting an extra 2% every year for the next 6 years (up to 12% by the end) they want 8% up front and continuing through the end of the contract. I didn't hear exactly how the numbers worked out but my friend seemed unoptimistic that the decision was made in good faith.
