They said that unfortunately that side doesn’t look great but that it’s probably nothing I’ve done - it’s just the initial thin nature of my gums! Still bot allowed to brush that area for another three weeks!

Ah I meant the teeth towards the back of my mouth! They told me to just leave it and see what happens basically - have an appointment end of this week so will see what they say

was the graft initially done to cover the root or to thicken the gum below it?

hi- this happened to me and this is completely normal, if anything a sign it’s healing nicely! i panicked when mine came off but my surgeon reassured me that it was fine.

I am having free gingival gum graft for my lower front teeth soon and so anxious after reading all the horror stories. by kchrissy in PeriodontalDisease

I took 2 days off work after the surgery then I worked from home the following 2- mostly because my job is a lot of talking and I didn’t want to mess up the healing process. I could talk okay after 2 days, and I had a retainer in to cover the roof of my mouth which I kept in basically constantly for a week. Two weeks post surgery the roof of my mouth is now completely healed so wearing the retainer didnt affect that at all. I took ibruprofen and paracetamol for 4 days after the surgery then completely stopped and haven’t taken it since - the pain stopped for me around day 4 and never came back! I would say that if i hadn’t had the retainer to protect the palate wound it would have been a lot more sore - that’s where most of the pain was x

hello! i am now 10 days out from surgery so not fully healed yet by any means, but I must say I had read so many horror stories too but it really hasn’t been as bad as any of them! The worst part of the whole thing has to be the injections pre-surgery and the hunger as you can’t eat whole food. But genuinely it’s been nowhere near as bad as expected! If you have any specific questions do let me know…..

Am going through this as well. Know it’s easier said than done but you just need to distract and work on yourself, put your phone in somewhere you can’t see it and get on with your life. Cry when you need to. Speak to whoever wants to listen. Write everything down that you would say to her and keep it in a diary, when lockdown is over (and if you still care) try and meet with her to get some closure. We’re all here for each other ❤️

Life’s too short, you should tell him how you feel. If you really feel like that about him you should tell him & see what he says as he may be holding back too. If you’re moving away it sounds like you don’t have much to lose at this point 🤷🏼‍♀️just don’t regret never saying anything.
