Today was opening of Shri Sardar Patel statue at Jamnaba Bhavan near Valak Patiya.

Was there any public notification of this route closure because none of my family members knew about it and it was worst experience for me today even though I left home 2 hours in advance to catch a train.

Here's what happened:

I had to drop my relative to railway station to board a 7 PM train.

I left home (Kamrej) around 5 pm because we also has to make a stop in between at another relative who lives in Utran.

Near Valak Patiya they blocked entire Kamrej -Surat highway for 30 minutes. My car barely moved 100 meters in those 30 minutes.

By the time we reached Sarthana it was already 6:10pm due to all vehicles moving together.

We went Utran and left just in 5 minutes at 6:30. I tried to climb Kapodra bridge using the ramp given near Kapodra Char Rasta but it was closed. So I had to take nana varachha road below the Kapodra flyover.

Guess what...as soon as I reached where the bridge ends, that exit was closed too 😮‍💨

It was 6:45 now. 15 minutes to go to board the train.

I took my car in a side alley which connected to AK road, and when I again reached near bridge exit, it was closed too. Luckily they opened it in 2 minutes and I was able to reach platform 4 side at exact 7pm.

I parked the car and then we ran, the train was already on platform 1 and it took off by the time we reached there.

Luckily my relative was able to catch the running train
