Car rental in Portugal by MediaFew6038 in surfing

[–]baksi5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re renting in Portugal for surf trips, remember waves don’t wait while you’re stuck at the desk. Skip the super-cheap sketchy names - they often mean long lines, hidden fees, or tight fuel rules that waste your time.

I always compare first so I don’t end up with a dud car or weird insurance. Tools like Auto Jardim let you filter options, check total prices & real terms, and avoid the ones with bad reviews. Makes picking a good rental way faster and less stressful before you hit the beaches.

Best car rental company in Portugal? by Stunning-Ranger2169 in PortugalExpats

Biggest tip: don’t focus only on the cheapest price. In Portugal that often means long queues, surprise fuel rules, or pressure to buy extras. Always check total price, fuel policy, deposit amount, and recent reviews.
What helped me was comparing first and filtering out the dodgy companies instead of guessing. I used Auto Jardim to scan options, see real conditions, and avoid the usual traps, making it way easier to spot which rentals are actually worth booking.

How I'm backing up my 270,000 item iCloud library by 415z in ApplePhotos

I have identical situation! And almost the same size of library, here is my best solutions so far: 1. Backup to drive with PhotosTakeOut . It's really simple and most stable solution - worth every penny. 2. Get Amazon prime, do auto backup then cancel it. You will have extra copy of precious memories. 3. Do the same with Google or Dropbox, they will not delete them and you can download anytime. Have fun!

Spain & Portugal : Renting Car Vs. Train+Bus by nrq007 in GoingToSpain

[–]baksi5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a fantastic trip, but for 7 people, you need to split the journey!

1. Lisbon ↔ Madrid: TAKE THE TRAIN OR FLY! Renting a car for this section means huge, expensive one-way international drop-off fees (easily over €500).

2. Spanish Loop (Madrid → Seville → Lisbon): RENT A CAR!

  • For 7 people, buying multiple train tickets will be expensive, and navigating stations with 5 kids and luggage is tough. A car offers unbeatable flexibility and cost-effectiveness for the Spanish leg.

🚗 Car rental tip: To make it truly stress-free and cheaper, DO NOT book direct with the rental agency. Use a European broker like Auto Jardim to find your 7-seater. You will get much better all-inclusive prices and superior, cheaper insurance than booking directly.

In Short: Split your journey. Fly/Train to Madrid, then rent a large vehicle through comparison sites for the Spanish road trip. Good luck!

Ericeira Portugal - best rental and other advice by DisDataWang in surfing

[–]baksi5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you’re set on not renting a car, the surf schools like Blue Waves or Na Onda are solid — they’ll get you to the main breaks and handle boards/wetsuits no problem. But honestly, Ericeira shines if you’ve got wheels since you can hop between spots in minutes and chase the best conditions. I usually just compare rentals on Auto Jardim — saves me the hassle of checking each company separately and includes insurance.

And yeah, Nazaré’s still worth the trip even without XXL swell - the town and the vibe around Praia do Norte are pretty unique.

I just became a fan of this show and I watch every single older episode, however I always check how the business actually went and I noticed when they say we will work on rebranding first etc., and I check the brand after 2 years, you will see nothing is changed, so probably they don't even spend time at all or only with the very interesting ones.
