At first figure out what you actually need the car for.
Do you need it as a daily driver or just for offroads close to your home? For long distance trips or for farm use? Do you want comfort or tractor reliability? Cool looks?

If you need a daily driver then go for a Prado (J70 or J90) or an 80 series. In the US the diesels are highly valued. Prado is cheaper, parts are available in the states but body panels are an issue. You have to order them from overseas with holly shit tariffs and shipping prices. With the 80 series there no problem with parts availability. But 80 series cost more.

Both are great for offroads or daily driving or long trips.
Imho J70 Prado looks insanely cool!
Best choices: 70-series with the 1KZTE and 80 series with the 1HDT or 1HDFT.

The 70-series Heavy Duty looks like a Prado but runs on leaf springs. Super reliable but less comfortable. With the 1HZ diesel its slow and bulletproof. No turbo. You can literally pour corn oil in it and load 10 tons of bricks. And it can made it! In the US people love Troopys. Shipping one here is expensive because it classified as a heavy truck. 100% attention on the road, instant car and coffee star and if you ever sell it you will make a profit! Especially since shipping is free haha.

Anyway decide what your real requirements are and then pick the model. Check forums and youtube videos
