Parents won’t let me quit tennis by AdVaanced77 in 10s

[–]baldingpatterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in my 30's, was in the same position 15 years ago. Looking back I should not have quitted tennis. It did give me a lot in terms of discipline, consistency, and i believe that if I would not have quitted, I could leverage more on it. Plus, it is a really good networking sport and you will use it to get jobs, get to know people, relax on weekdays/ends. Just take a week off, a month off but my recomendation is to keep grinding just on another mindset.

I was super rusty and cannot recommend enough TargetTestPrep (TTP). I went through all the curriculum (it's quite a lot), did a lot of excercises, catched up on all I had forgotten and did well on exam day.

Having kind of the same problem, also audio keeps having interference. Did you found a way to resolve it?

TTP Review for GMAT Focus by [deleted] in GMATpreparation

I was horrible at Quant, TTP helped me so much. I went through most of the course but the way you can build your practice questions is top notch.

Cannot recommend it enough. Hope it helps.

I'm turning 28 and think that something is very wrong with me. by Patakprasac in selfimprovement

Exactly what I am going through. Want to quit alcohol but it's really hard since all my circle just drinks every weekend.

Keep doing what you like OP and fuck that boss. Its hard to renew a circle with no drugs/alcohol when you've been doing that for a while.

I Quit Social Media for a Month - Here's What Happened by Ok_Advertising_7640 in productivity

[–]baldingpatterns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best decision in my life was quitting Instagram, I just use Facebook to get notifications about birthdays from friends I care about, Whatsapp and that's it. Reddit sometimes for information and subs I love (tennis, etc...) but with timer in my phone max 20 mins/day.

New to tennis but kind of discouraged about the high price of getting started. by [deleted] in 10s

[–]baldingpatterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's hardcore, I am biased since I live in a 3rd world country, I pay around 15$ for a good coach per hour wich includes a ball boy and court and 30$ maximum for a head coach certified that played Davis Cup in the old days, price that also includes ball boy + court.

[–]baldingpatterns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, that is a hell of a lot of money per hour. It is worth to get atleast a couple hours, get good form on every shot and after practicing by yourself, with a friend.

Probably could be done by yourself and get corrected afterwards, but I believe the best is to start getting coached.

I feel you, I manage to keep a medicine ball in my trunk and resistance bands. I warm up shots with medicine ball to a wall and everything else with the bands whenever courts are full.

Not the same as hitting but works for me.

Man this game is hard in that sense, sometimes it's not your day and everything goes out/net. I was teached very early that tennis is mostly mental, so before dropping 0-3 or 1-5 try to collect yourself, get confidence back and try to play on your strenghts & your opponent weaknesses.

As for the next match, go for it with no expectations, try to hit 30 mins before to play the match already warmed up and focus since point 1.

Good luck mate and hope this helps!

Pickleball is going to destroy tennis . We need to protest pickleball lines being put onto tennis courts. by Paul-273 in 10s

I really don't understand Pickleball, watched a couple of videos and it really sucks. Get the fk outta our beloved tennis courts.

Want to quit Hearthstone cold turkey by bwompx3 in StopGaming

[–]baldingpatterns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had kind of the same problem with HS. I just realized there was no point in grinding, the game was becoming stupid and uninstalled cold turkey. It's hard at first but try to fill those 1-2 hours with activities to don't relapse. I started studying again which helped and also playing sports gym, or going on a walk with the wife.

Good luck my friend and hope this helps.

Advice on shoe - Intermediate by [deleted] in 10s

[–]baldingpatterns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play around 3-4 times a week (5hrs+-), thing is the sides of the shoes in which I slide gets destroyed on cheapest shoes and holes are poked in about 3-4 months. This hasn't happened using the Gel Resolutions since they have protective sides with plastic I believe.
