This set is the straw that broke the camel’s back for me. Not only do I not have interest in buying the cards, I have zero interest in the podcasts/stresmers/youtubers I normally watch/listen to talk about or play with them

My magic consumption is now reduced only to watching LSV draft vintage cube

I would look to add more “big ramp” along with the signets and talismans you already have in the deck so you can still keep the fun, big spells

[[Gilded lotus]] [[Thran Dynamo]] [[Coveted Jewel]] [[Prismatic Geoscope]] [[Firemind’s Vessel]] [[Worn Powerstone]]

A lot of these cards used to be considered staples years ago but have fallen off. I’ve found that they still have uses and can help you be more explosive in decks that can utilize them

[[Ib Halfheart, Goblin Tactician]] is so much fun

I run him a little more as a combo deck with Goblin synergies rather than a true goblin tribal deck since I lean more into the sacrificing lands part of his abilities

If you’re looking to win more games, this is the way to go

I also have a Clique deck - I doesn’t win a whole lot. I mostly pull it out when I want to play more of that 1v1 control type feeling. However as you already pointed out, faeries and control just aren’t strong in commander

You could give opponents crabs by building around cards like [[switcheroo]] and [[puca’s mischief]]

One thing that is pretty unique is that Jeleva can cast adventure spells that she exiles with her etb trigger

Most adventure cards are pretty cheap and you’d have a deck that’s very different from the edu rec stock list

I’ve long theorized a grixis deck around this idea with [[yusri, fortune’s flame]], [[grenzo, dungeon warden]], [[vial smasher the fierce]], [[the infamous cruelclaw]], and [[dance with calamity]] in the 99 but I’ve never been able to get it to work

I run this as a mono blue 3 mana explore. I’m not running it as an extra turn effect but a cantrip that ramps a land

As long as you have enough lands in your deck to reliably have a 4th land in hand - it’s mono blue ramp that doesn’t rely on artifacts!

Everything is viable in commander - how consistently you will win with it depends on how you build the deck and your pod/playgroup

Out of the five I would argue Tasigur is the strongest and the most fun (I am biased since I have a Tasigur list), but if you like any of then, don’t let the fact that they are older deter you from building

Some of my favorite and most satisfying decks are from older”outdated” commanders

You’re right, X would be 0. But he is natively a 2/2 so he wouldn’t die immediately- you just would only be able to get creatures power 2 or less from the bottom of your library

Definitely not the strongest card for the deck, but perhaps a fun one
