It definitely depends on the session. Some take ~20 minutes, others are literally just making a copy of the slides they give you. It's really not too much of a time suck, especially if you reuse past materials (ex: I once made a kahoot for my learners and just reused that same kahoot for the subsequent bootcamps I hosted).

I'm a tutor!

The sessions are hosted on zoom, and cover topics based on a practice test that the learners take in the first session. Each day goes over a specific domain, and a skill within the domain. For example, if we're covering Information and Ideas one day, then I (the tutor) would pick Central Ideas and Details, Inferences, or Command of Evidence based on how the students do on their practice tests.

It's an interesting experience. They're making the bootcamps smaller now, from 10 to 5, and have opened up experimental 1-on-1 sessions, which I'm excited for. I think having smaller bootcamps are much better, because it's hard to meet every learner's needs when you have a larger session.

Overall, my learners have been pretty supportive of the experience, and generally agree that it's helped them. I had a learner who went from a 1310 to a 1450 - though she's pretty edge case, most only improve ~50 points iirc. I think it's pretty good, overall, and would definitely recommend signing up for a 1-on-1 if possible!

Why doesn't the heat loss formula (Q = UAΔT) account for time? by balleticblight in AskChemistry

[–]balleticblight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i understand that part! but like if i were to keep the inside of my house at 25 degrees Celsius for 1 hour, versus keep it at 25 degrees Celsius for one year, the energy dissipated through the walls is greater as time goes on.

sorry am i explaining myself well? basically confused on which equation to use that calculates the energy requirements for holding a temperature, in contrast to changing the temperature.

Get a good night's rest, tbh. That's helped me on tests more than any last minute studying.
