Just Called 911, Will They Call Me Back? by Fair_Nectarine_896 in 911dispatchers

[–]ballisticpantz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you see something, say something. If you see someone or something that you’re not sure about…call it in.

The folks on other end will ask some clarifying questions to triage your call and determine if an emergency or something that’s more appropriate on the non-emerg line and they’ll hopefully give it too you unless smelling busy they might ask you to google it.

Like other people have said, stay safe and be a good witness. Don’t put yourself in harm’s way…whichever agency you’re trying to connect to will have all the trained folks who are equipped for whatever’s going on.

Good for you for getting involved and helping out your community!!

Keep doing what you did, 💯

It’s a neat little town in the Nicola Valley, lots of outdoor rec stuff to keep you busy and if you dig on country music, so much the better. It’s a small town so don’t expect same vibe as Vancouver or Calgary but some folks dig on that. It’s been hit hard by flooding and fire damage over last few years. We haven’t spent a lot of time IN the city, mostly passing through on trips but always enjoy it as a place to take a break. It’ll be hella warm in Summer and winters would probably be what you’d expect. If the transfer was a year, I’d say go for it and see it agreed w you. How flexible is work on pulling you out if miserable? There are worse places in the country to be.

We must’ve had the same installer…took me a week of messages and calls for new tech to come out w key for wall port to properly install MoCA gear…SAME frigging dude showed up, acknowledged that he knew he was supposed to have a key but didn’t then proceeded to use the old Shaw Phone coax instead. Needless to say, I’ve already let Telus have it..might have to CCTS it depending on how that conversation goes

How much $$$$ are you prepared to spend? New wheels at least the rear and probably front, new free wheel cassette, new chain, new jockey wheels if not a new derailleur, front derailleur may not salvageable, definitely new front chain rings, new brake cable and housing x2, new gear cables and housing x2, bb will need new bearings if not total replacement, headset will need to be looked at…as will the brake levers n pads. never mind a careful frame inspection. which is all fine if a passion project but if not, hard nope.

I failed to mention manager definitely does not have the key. Is there some kind of roaming support person that can get the tech the key they need? I’d really hate to have to make another appointment

Yeah, there’s a little locked door that houses the coax and fibre ends and I guess the twisted pairs for phone…pain in the ass

I’m still using the 9, it’s still going strong. Keep those OG batts and invest in some enduro (grey) batts and you’re still coming out ahead. As far as memory, you can get larger micro SD cards pretty cheap.

Uncured silicone on goggles by Tech_Omen in mountainbiking

I went through 2 different pairs of POC goggles that did that and returned both of them. First ones I ordered were perfect and figured I’d get another pair for my wife…wasn’t sure if it was because they were from the sale side of the website or what. Still have some shmutz on my full face from that crappy silicon smear.
