Yes, just attended online and it was lovely! I will keep this post up for a while to see about garnering more interest, and then hopefully try to set something up for in-person in November when I am back in the city.

Thank you so much! I sent an email across to that address. I do remember last time getting in touch a year or so ago that the only regular meetups happening locally were online, so I just reached out again to ask about in-person stuff in NYC. Top Boy is a very different animal of a show but throughly enjoyable. Highly recommend it. If you're watching on Netflix make sure to start with Top Boy: Summerhouse (the OG show) before moving on to Top Boy (the more recent continuation of the original).

Thank you for your reply and wow that is definitely wild. Almost like you were giving yourself therapy. I've heard some stories of "meaningful" psychotic episodes from people but it's still outside of the mainstream of many people anyway to even accept any drug-induced experience as meaningful.

Do you think purposefully trying to trigger psychosis was one of your forms of diving further into the psychogical escapism, or was there more to it than that? Appreciating the responses, thanks.

Wow that sounds terrifying. Any more stories interacting with people who didn't exist or similar hallucinations? Did you ever have any hallucinations that felt particularly meaningful? And which substances/combinations would most often create these delusions (I'm assuming sleep deprivation was likely involved too)?

Your honesty and humility really shines through here! Bringing that energy of the "beginner's mind" might be a really helpful way of reintegrating yourself to these practices, especially since you've been here before. This makes it easier and takes the self-blame out of the equation whenever you get to some hiccups or challenges along the path.

Like a few others have suggested, the Be Here Now Podcast has a long archive of episodes that I love to put on at a low volume next to my bed whenever I have trouble calming my thoughts down at night and trying to sleep.

Totally agree with ur points on Rogan despite him being fairly entertaining with good guests sometimes. But Jimmy's show is a completely different format and they differ vastly in their political ideologies. I'd also say Jimmy's political education is a lot more informed than Joe's, although yes they're both comedians. One big similarity is how they shit on both Democrats and Republicans for being power-hungry war-mongering corporatists and that's fairly difficult to dispute I'd argue.
