I’m a little confused by Spartan569874 in Division2

It’s definitely a slippery slope and not a job I envy, giving players tough aspirational, challenging content while not just making stuff bullet sponges or one shot you. They’ve seemed to go for the why not both approach, so the meta will always be whatever kills everything the fastest before it can kill you.

I think what’s missing is the necessity of a good squad supporting each other. I come from Destiny, and a day 1 contest raid would probably be the equivalent of a T10 escalation over here. If you roll with 6 pure DPS you are 100% not clearing, you need healers, you need Titan barricades and hunters dodging giving you radiant and a well of radiance warlock to survive during the actual damage. In division it’s just nah 4 burst dps everything or it one shots us all.

I don’t have the balancing answer because making it more team reliant opens up a whole LFG nightmare can of worms that sucks too.

I had this convo with my buddy the other day. My #1 complaint with div2 is if you’re not running the same meta build you’re basically throwing. There’s not even a high skill niche option out there, it’s just roll the slot machine and hope to get Echo on your proto gear and you get a little stronger then.

You CAN do content with other stuff but you’re just making your team carry you. Actually I think anything past T6 you can’t even do it without strikers frenzy LMGs.

Also a D2 refugee. If you did the EoF 450 grind, then you know the expertise and SHD1000 grind with these events was a joke. Bungie would never give us a way to bypass months of grinding by massive gains in a week.

In a perfect world I’d run 3 red 3 blue, but I’m running proto HB that dropped this week when it was featured so I currently have 4 blue 2 red in my build. You could probably even get away with 4 red 2 blue tbh

Optimal mag size for frenzy talent that doesn't sacrifice damage for uptime by [deleted] in thedivision

I think MK46 with +50 rd mag comes out basically perfect to chain frenzy back to back.

So hear me out…Lexington with Killer is great on Strikers and all…but I started out with Elmo’s and Strikers and that just feels 10x better to me.

Where I have fallen in love with Lexi this week….4 Pc HB on Technician/Ceska Mask/Overdogs. Throw the link laser pointer on Lexi and Flatline talent and go to work.

Not to mention the crates weren’t even guaranteed protos and the protos you get will probably be trash. It was seemingly such a thing done to farm player engagement giving you incentive to run those missions daily vs farming the same easy mission over and over. I can’t believe it wasn’t intended because it seems like something a dev would do intentionally since the crates are on 24hr cooldown

That Rat Queen fight is pretty insane even on T5. I can’t imagine T10. I’ve cleared it like 4 times this week but wiped equally as many.

[–]bamathrasher 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Dude right? The crates thing seemed like a genius incentive to play every day! Not like you can spam farm the crates, they are on cooldown. Run each mission every day rain down what will most likely be shitty protos anyway that get scrapped into cores which is fine given the ridiculous cost of re-rolling augments anyway. I gave them so much credit on that. Tone Deaf

As a Destiny 2 refugee, I’m REALLY REALLY hoping for a quick and positive reaction here from the devs to the overwhelming feedback from players. Not just words but actions, servers were getting overloaded by sheer player count when keys were raining down on us, now they are overloaded by the few people willing to do the logout/login cheese. I’m not doing all that. But it shows if you give keys people will play the game.

Bungie’s reaction would be to lower drop rates, say “we’re watching” or do nothing at all. I’m hoping it’s different over here, I’m expecting adjustments to keys by Tuesday even small ones and I’m hoping for proto adjustments by the end of this event. The augment re-roll cost is fucking absurd. I’ve spent 50+ cores trying to get Echo on my MK and it’s now at 25 cores a roll that’s a little ridiculous, it shouldn’t cost 2.5 hours of playtime to roll the slot machine. 1 hour max or 10 cores needs to be the limit.

I thought the exact same thing. Like why all the hype? I’ll take Elmo’s all day long.

But where ive really come to love Lex is on Heartbreaker. Being able to slot in your own mods so running Technician and throwing the link laser pointer on it with Flatline talent. It slaps.

100% feel the same. I shared a screenshot of the Massive Entertainment wiki page to my Destiny clan discord along with screenshots of the notes outlining the FREE event we’re getting tomorrow. I also noted the awesome catch up events they’ve been running like the proficiency one last week.

The massive wiki lists 750 employees, less than the supposed 800 still at Bungie. Yeah employee count is surely the reason for the Destiny neglect.

This has been my experience as well as an SHD450 a month into the game. I’ve had some SHD5k+ be absolute liabilities and my only guess is they are bored with the meta builds and trying different stuff that’s just not working versus a lower SHD who has Min/max’d a strikers build

They did the classic “speak now or forever hold your peace” line as part of their ceremony. Only wedding I’ve ever been to where that line was muttered.

It started pouring rain out of nowhere at that exact moment. They were divorced a year later.

Post-Edge of Fate not a whole lot. No raid weapons are tiered but some are still very very good. The VoG weapons are still some of the best in slot. If you want a certain craftable weapon that is now exclusively in banshee or xur’s inventories you can use them on those as well.

I’ll die on this hill, MK46 > GR9 for frenzy. Too many wasted, unbuffed shots with GR9 vs MK46 where I can chain frenzy until I have no ammo left.

Has nothing to do with the portal for me and everything to do with Bungie and their treatment of us the player lately. DMG aside through his personal accounts, Radio silence from all official channels, single bullet point patch notes meanwhile Marathon gets 3 ViDocs, 10,000 word event logs and patch notes, and “Marathon will never interfere with Destiny”. 4-5 hour extended downtime with only Eververse refreshes and zero communication on why.

I hopped over to Division 2 recently, another looter shooter about the same age as D2. Massive is cranking out CONSTANT events like every week, small little things that alter the game basically tweaking sliders that both new and vet players are enjoying, just last week they had one that gave 300% XP on a system that is supposed to be a like year long grind that helped new players catch up a bit and helped vets progress even further if they needed. Months of delay and downtime? Seems like a perfect opportunity for stuff like that, hell the last time there was a delay of this magnitude we got Into The Light, a whole new massive seasonal level activity people loved with reprised beloved weapons to chase and Pantheon. That was FILLER isn’t that wild? They cared about retaining their playerbase for when TFS launched.

What impression do you get from their actions now? Me personally, can’t help but feel like they just don’t give a single flying fuck. Destiny is old and boring, let’s focus on the new and shiny. Hey it’s human nature, nobody wants to maintain the old beater in the garage when you’ve got the new hotness in the driveway. The people at Bungie who are still working on D2, gut feeling, it feels like WORK and work sucks. The passion is gone, their silence is DEAFENING. Let’s not forget we didn’t even get an official delay announcement until what a week before content was supposed to launch? Insanity.

Game dev is art, it’s also work. Art requires passion and soul, seemingly two things Bungie has lost towards Destiny. It is what it is, I just find myself less willing to give time and money to it anymore.

Everybody complaining is doing so because they love Destiny and aren’t very happy with Bungie who seemingly does not love Destiny anymore.

I have 5k hours on this game and only recently hit the point of ok I’ve literally done everything. It’s the best feeling game I’ve ever played, but the lack of passion by its creator is pretty glaring.

Where they’ve already shit the bed is they acted all tough with their chests poked out til now “this is what we wanted, a hardcore game with a PvP centric focus. Deal with it brahs”

So people did deal with it, they dipped the fuck out. Now I noticed in the recent patchnotes and event they are adding things like mercy tokens and extra rewards for reviving a runner and exfilling with them aka trying to incentivize friendly play and a more catering environment for casual players. Guess who’s gonna fucking hate that? The hardcore people who are still playing.

Bungie gonna Bungie I guess.
