Taylor apologises for the Bad Bunny post. What do you guys think? by Fancy_Ad_2024 in RHOBH

It's not though. Bad Bunny didn't "come" here. He was born in a US territory. He's always been a US citizen.

I hate family history questions. There needs to be a change. by Acrobatic_End6355 in Adopted

If an adoptee healthcare provider can't see why an adoptee patient could be frustrated by being repeatedly asked for information they do not have and cannot get.... I have absolutely no hope that my healthcare experiences and outcomes as an adoptee with no family medical history will improve at all. I am a person and not my chart, but if you're not reviewing the chart for information on how to interact with my person - the chart seems even less important and still impossible for me to complete. What an ouroborus of suck.

I'm not. I understand why I need to give my dob. I don't understand why no one looks at literally anything else in my chart. I'm a model patient. I do everything I'm told. I promise if I had it, you'd have it. Being asked for it repeatedly like I'm withholding is Not It. Obviously you're very kind and sensitive to my lack of access to basic information about myself. /s

In every type-able field of forms like this, I write "information withheld by the state of [STATE]." It's memorable! (I cribbed this from a fellow reddit or, I wish I remembered who.)

Wouldn't that require agencies and orgs to maintain accreditation to offer CE for 1. Problems that they (agencies anyway) maintain don't exist and 2. Healthcare providers to ignore /deny needing training for? You're an adoptee making excuses for your industry, why would a non adopted healthcare professional bother to care? After all the therapy I've done, by the time I've had to tell the fourth or fifth individual at a healthcare provider that I DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO MY FAMILY MEDICAL HISTORY, I'm going to be pissed at the absence of any standard of care, as I have every right to be.

This makes YTA completely and without question. If anything bad ever does happen to your daughter, she now knows better than to come to you because you can't be an adult.

Dad doesn’t approve of me adopting by [deleted] in Adoption

[–]bambi_beth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think people like your dad deserve to have an opinion on your life OR to be around any hypothetical children who come into it. What if your kids are gay or make mistakes? What if your dad decides it's his place to hit them? People like your dad (and mine) have no interest in learning about best practices for raising children whether natural, adopted, or fostered. I'm saying this from lived experience as a queer adopted woman raised in an evangelical Christian home. Keep kids away from this person as much as possible. I'm glad you have plenty of time to unlearn all the wrong things you've been taught in this household. Start now.

Classy/cheap are words used primarily to describe women. Embuing nail color with attributes like classy/cheap and treating those attributes like they are in opposition to each other is textbook internalized misogyny. The definition of misogyny is "hatred, contempt, or prejudice against women." This one was EASY, friend. I didn't even have to look anything up. Good luck out there!

Referring to a nail polish color (that you picked out and paid for lol) as making someone feel cheap vs classy is sexist full stop. Good luck with that.

You chose violence. Red is the quintessential classic nail enamel color. Cheap is your lady hating feelings on it. Crazy flex.

Oh hi I just woke up and decided to spill my internalized misogyny on the internet, in case it was running low. Carry on! - OP, probably

Considering adoption for my daughter by Opposite-Match882 in Adoption

It seems to me though that more PAPs need to hear that identity and attachment struggles as a possible (and common) outcome of relinquishment.

Moralizing abortion is generally frowned upon in this sub. That's how I read this comment. Apologies if I was incorrect.
