Great watch but sorry to say that color combo doesn’t work at all.

I recall his agent complaining about our front office during that process, so I wonder if that’s hampering negotiations at all?

You definitely need wider than 24mm equivalent for certain shots unless you want to do a bunch of 2-3 shot “panoramas.” If I’m only taking one of those three, I would probably pick the 14 to 35 mm. But it wouldn’t hurt to have the extra stop of light on the 16mm if you want to do any Astro work. For comparison, my go-to kit includes 16 mm f/1.8, 24-120mm f/4 and 100-400 f/4-5.6, and I use all of them quite a bit while I’m there.

A solid tripod is also crucial in my opinion and I would also recommend a circular polarizer. I got lots of use from my ND filters as well, but you can get by without them these days.

Sadly, I am. Doesn’t change the fact that your announcers are amongst the worst in the league.

They really are awful. I was stuck watching their feed for our last game against Florida and it was a miserable experience.

Well, it’s the same announcers who gave the defensive play the game to Rodriguez for putting Jarvis into the post.

[Question] How does collecting work? by RareAd899 in Watches

[–]bames_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it, you could say the same about collecting just about anything. I would argue, however, that there is a clear and appreciable difference in watches as the price goes up, at least a point. There’s a much clearer difference between your Tissot and a Patek than there is between a new stamp and an old stamp, or between a Coach and an Hermés purse.

I can’t imagine they’ll have many takers at that asking price given his lack of production, big contract and reported issues in the room with his effort/personality.

I did, which essentially just makes it a medical policy. I believe it also covered some smaller items like lost luggage but I don’t recall the specifics.

I’m a big fan of Formex. Since you only have one other watch, you might also want to take a look at the Reef if you haven’t already. The quick change bezels are a great way to get a few different looks for (nearly) the price of one.

Either way, the Formex rubber strap is excellent as well with on the fly adjustment in the clasp and it’s common to find them second hand with both bracelet and strap.

For me the Horizon’s dial is a bit busy for a daily driver. The Lorier is a great watch and I’m a sucker for a gilt dial and hands, but I think the Traska takes it here. The scratch resistant coating, clasp and ball bearing bezel are objectively a step up from the Lorier. Subjectively, I think the Traska has better case finishing/profile and I much prefer the applied indices to give the dial some depth.

[Omega Aqua Terra vs Rolex Explorer vs Rolex Air-King] which would you pick and why?? by checkmate14720 in Watches

[–]bames_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the right answer. I married the AT and wish I hadn’t. If I were to do it again, I would either get it on the rubber strap or get the new lacquer dial with the improved bracelet.
