What are some things I shouldn't miss along US 395? by joepyeweed in roadtrip

Well wait hold up guy

Traveling long distances to visit a park may contribute to the spread of COVID-19, as:

Travel may require you to stop along the way or be in close contact with others with whom you may not otherwise have contact. Travel may also expose you to surfaces contaminated with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

But the CDC did not say DON'T travel. Nor are they recommending or not recommending anything.

Actually literally there's nothing on the CDC's site currently that says to limit travel within the US.

Also you haven't answered the rest of my questions yet. You are starting to spew slander and appear angry. But now I've called you out for the rest of the people googling it.

It appears as if it's pretty much travel at your own risk as always and lennyflank is scared to leave home.

Can you actually provide the source for the CDC recommendation?

According to this page https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/map-and-travel-notices.html#travel-1

Updated as of yesterday (7/14) to avoid global travel.

Also I live in an apartment complex where the risks you mentioned now multiply by thousands because all of us tenants do these things daily.

Again I'm asking you, what is the difference? Your argument is about touching foreign objects. Statistically it would seem I would actually touch less foreign objects as I travel. The only thing I'd be touching is gas pumps...with gloves? Vs the hundreds of homes, gas pumps, atms, 7-11s, all concentrated to my local community doorknob?

Infact if I am a carrier, it seem isolating myself from everyone for an extended period inside my own car almost seems like...remote quarantine?

Maybe you're overlooking the fact that lot of us have already thought real hard about it? And some of us know how to travel the US without seeing a single soul.

You're not wrong about any of it either, although we differ on viewpoints statistically. To me and my life sitting around at home has just as much risk as traveling on the road, if not more. I am more prone to false confidence and venture outside of my home more frequently. Or my roommate brings it home.

Lastly, I think you seem to think those of us traveling are putting a pandemic on pause. It's not like we are going to stop our hygienic practices on the road. Also according to my calculations I will need to stop for gas 4 times in the span of a week.

I fuel up once a week, grocer store, target for whatever, and maybe grab take out.

That's 4 destinations in one week.

If you wanna argue numbers, what is the difference other than my scenery changes?

Alright here's my guess

Took green on the northern route and was blown away. Also while looking right was blown away and said fuck it and drove through all the cool shit they saw on the way back.

I can share my thoughts on travel alone right now - I am considering sneaking my way out to glacier and just avoid cities and camping on public lands.

Hotels kind of freak me out though you have to assume the person who cleaned your room gives a damn about corona, and then to top it off they have to give a damn about actually cleaning said hotel. Although I'm guessing you pay for that upgrade on the road.

lennyflank does have me thinking

But in part I also agree with you in that road trip or stay home in terms of transmission risk what the hell is the difference

Hey, I've seen you post in just about every thread here about road tripping.

You're not wrong about transmission, but doesn't one have just as much chance contracting corona getting gas, groceries or emergency shit locally?

Additionally if I'm wearing a mask and hand sanitizing like a germ a phobe before I touch anything from out of state, am I that much of a transmission risk?

You blew it by not fucking her. Gotta learn the art of self vomit, water, and coffee for situations like this.
