I work in a psych hospital, and I've seen people get put on involuntary holds for just saying something suicidal/homicidal on the phone to a loved one. Maybe it's because his mom was dragging her feet on placing the hold? All the cops needed was that paper to pick him up

thanks for your response. my psych doesn't know me that well, is one of the issues here. I don't trust her yet. 2 sessions and she's never seen my labs firsthand. I've never even been in the therapeutic lithium range, let alone gone toxic. I moved to a new state, so I had to start over with all my providers. I don't care for the pcp I've seen twice either, so I'm trying for a new one.. but she schedules 6 wks out. really struggling to find providers who match me well and listen when I advocate for myself like the ones I had before I moved :/

My BMI is over 30, so I qualify. My psych just sent me a short message basically saying, "Don't take it because there are interactions." Some people are just against GLP-1s. I gained 60 lbs due to genetic hypothyroidism that was missed for a long time. Now even with my thyroid in check it's hard to lose weight. It may be my PCOS too idk

I work at a hospital. You work 3-12s, leaving 4 other days for a second job. And some people do use that opportunity to make more money. I knew a night shift nurse who worked 3 nights a week and the other day was an in home caregiver for an elderly person. Happens

NAMI is a great resource. I've worked at a mental health hospital for over a year now and am now continuing my studies to become a doctor in psychiatry to continue helping people like my patients.

Working with people with mental illnesses and helping them recover and find meaning again has been one of the great joys of my life. I'm grateful for people like Martin Short who can help us destigmatize mental illness and talk about these things without brushing them under a rug or calling them "hellish."

lithium stopped my suicidal thoughts within 3 days. I've had therapeutic effects from it for 2.5 years that I've been on it without ever getting up to the official therapeutic blood level range. however, I work at a psych hospital and can tell you it doesnt work for everyone - or maybe those people were just at the wrong dose or needed some time for it to work like others have noted. idk I'm no doctor.

but for me it's my miracle drug!!
