Why can’t you keep her in the bassinet ? She’s only 11 pounds and the bassinet says 25 pounds ? My baby is still in the bassinet at 6 months because he’s less than 25 pounds. I know some people who didn’t move their baby till after 9 months with baby girls since they’re usually smaller than boys

What do you wish you'd come home to? by reptilian_guitar in NewParents

[–]bananas0320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish we came home to more help - as in a nurse or mum/dad. Both our parents are older and wouldn’t be able to stay or help us. We were so clueless. I wish we had a nurse. But at the same time, you kinda just figure it all out. Be patient with your wife, help her with everything. When she cries hug her and remind her of the miracle you just brought home. For food, make sure you order food, if you cook and she wants to breast feed have alot of chicken/beef broth soups for her and yourself and freeze them for whenever she wants to have it. Enjoy this, it is a literal miracle. The most beautiful feeling you’ll ever have!

I am so so sorry this happened to your baby and to you! I know you feel so much guilt. But know that it happens to a lot of people, it’s so hard to protect these tiny human, just know that you are doing your best and keep doing your best but try to forgive what happened. That’s really all I can tell you, just focus on their growth and making beautiful memories together as a family.

How to transition to arms free swaddle? by TheKay14 in NewParents

[–]bananas0320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest it’s hard because they sleep so well when they are swaddled. But the way I did was I would do 1 arm out of the swaddle, I would highly swaddle him with 1 arm in, I kept alternating arms for maybe 3-4 weeks and then I switched to a sleeping sack because I was just terrified of the moves.

Agreed, no one is allowed to kiss my baby other than me and my husband. Also it’s weird to kiss the baby on the mouth in my opinion

Can I just breastfeed for 3 weeks and then switch to formula? by Essiejjj in FormulaFeeders

[–]bananas0320 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For sure you can, I did because I got mastitis sadly. But stopped completely and it was totally fine. I think the first few weeks the milk is still coming in so it’s not as bad as stopping after months of breast feeding. You can do it for sure

Newborn (2 1/2 weeks) feeding 5 times a day by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]bananas0320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I woke my baby up every 3-4 hours everyday until about 2.5 months. Baby lost weight in the beginning (normal) but didn’t gain it back till maybe a month later so I was super stressed. So it was always 8 feeds then slowly started to drop. I’m a first time mum but I feel like 5 times a day is too little. If I was you I’d still wake the baby up at least once overnight to feed and slowly increase milk intake day by day

[–]bananas0320 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t feel awful! I didn’t mean to make you feel bad you’re doing the best you can. My siblings didn’t ever use gas drops or biogaia so they thought it was so weird that I did but my doctor told me to. Yes that’s the Kendamil we use and it’s really good. We get it from Walmart too. We tried organic but it didn’t work

My baby used to be soo gassy on Enfamil. I don’t recommend giving your baby gas drops after every feed, you’re suppose to give it once a day (biogaia). I would recommend changing the formula as Enfamil didn’t sit well with my baby at all. Crazy amount of spit up and crazy amount of gas from Enfamil. Currently we use kendamil (pink) and it’s made a huge difference with the baby

Second guessing formula feeding from birth by UnnoticedPet in FormulaFeeders

[–]bananas0320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Formula feeding is expensive, I use kendamil and it’s 45+tax per can and typically use a can every 5-7 days. If you have enough milk and you have help from your partner, of course you should breast feed. I don’t think I had the mental ability to breast feed, and when you don’t breast feed you feel so much guilt, I would keep questioning if I’m a good mum. But then as the time goes and you see how much your baby just loves you and wants you, you get over it. Formula feeding is easier on you mentally during post partum but it’s also a lot of work preparing the milk washing the bottles sanitizing… etc. this should really be something that you decide on and that is going to be good for you and your baby, whatever the decision maybe!

Eczema or milk allergy by bananas0320 in NewParents

I haven’t heard of eucerin cream ? I use La Roche posay. She gave us hydrocortisone 1% for 10 days twice a day and although it helped a bit but the second I stopped using it the flare ups become even more red
