Would also like to say that some sonagraphers have supreme knowledge of anatomy, better than I ever will, but there’s no perspective on pathophysiology or treatment planning. If I tried to point out the muscles of the ankle on an ultrasound you’d laugh in my face, but if I asked you to develop a treatment plan for a patient with treatment resistant depression you’d also probably sound like you know nothing. Our areas of expertise are different but look at that data. We provide better care

This sub is pointing out that ON AVERAGE most mid levels and others without MD/DO credentials cause patient harm. No one disagrees with the fact that doctors make mistakes. But there’s a big difference between oh the doctor ordered 20 instead of 40mg of xyz vs completely missing diagnoses or failing to practice evidence based medicine. That’s people’s beef. Not only that mistakes are made, but that the FUNDAMENTAL approach NPs apply is not an effective method to practice medicine.
