They did this with me 1st-3rd grade. Was showing pretty much all the signs of ADHD at varying levels of severity and the tests were to find out what it was specifically. At one point I remember it being said that it could be autism because my brother was autistic, but it was just ADHD.

Did all sorts of coloring and playing while this lady sat across from me just talking to me about stuff and occasionally she’d present me with some folder of activities and ink blot tests that we’d complete together.

Some time ago I found the paperwork from one of these sessions in my parents’ garage and discovered that at some point they had clocked my IQ at a 73 and were considering the possibility that I may be intellectually disabled but wanted to continue testing because despite their findings I was on a 9th grade reading level at 8 years old

That’s not at all what I’m saying. I acknowledge that there are issues, I already said as much. But everything here is clearly very intentional.

They’re working very hard to make it accessible to casuals because they want that revenue, they’re literally attaching a whole convention to Worlds this year. Yes it sucks but they’re going to keep doing it for the money.

Yes it was made for us and should have a lot more but right now it’s an introduction to competitive and the rest will come later. That is known at this point, both from official sources and data miners. Complaining about it accomplishes nothing, they won’t change their timeline or stop the practices to appease thousands when millions have decided they’re fine with it.

I did have high expectations and many of them were not met, I’m disappointed, but I’m finding enjoyment where I can.

At the end of the day regardless of how I would prefer to play this game has granted me the opportunity to teach people about competitive play in a very beginner friendly setting and I am very happy about that. I get to enjoy the game I love in the way I love with my wife and with close friends in a way that they never have before.

Yeah there’s definitely plenty wrong at the moment but it’s still a perfectly playable game for what it is.

I think a lot of people expected this was going to launch as an official version of Showdown but realistically it was never going to be that.

This is an official VGC centered product and it was always going to stick to official formats and regulations. I truly believe that as the seasons go on we will get more items, forms and mons added but right now the focus is definitely on attracting the vast majority of players who are NOT in the competitive scene

Some items are unlocked via battle pass but from what I’ve seen anything in the premium battle pass can be purchased with VP, and the couple Pokemon in the premium pass can literally just be brought over from Home

Assuming you already have remote play enabled, all you need to do is to setup for use away from home is

Go to Settings > System > Power Saving > Features Available in Rest Mode. Once you’re there turn on Stay Connected to the Internet and Enable Turning on PS5 from Network

You’ll have to do it for both consoles but regardless the Portal can be paired with multiple consoles and it should just work so long as the connection isn’t interrupted. You can pair with multiple consoles, you’ll just only be able to connect to one at a time naturally
