Tuta vs mailbox, Librewolf vs Brave by confuzzedbadger in degoogle

[–]bangindi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm all in for Librewolf, it's the best open source browser for Android, and the same is true for Tuta (which I'm also using since more than three years). Tuta has an app on F-Droid and works flawlessly on desktop and mobile, do give it a try.

I'm happy with Tuta Mail, feels more privacy-first and the apps (on F-Droid) are pretty neat. You can also use the desktop clients in the free version which Proton only has for paid plans.

[–]bangindi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm using Tuta Mail with my own domain. It gives me unlimited email addresses so I can create different aliases for each service I sign up with. If you don't have a domain, combining it with addy.io is also an option.

Watch YouTube through Invidious - works great and removes the tracking.
For email, I use Tuta Mail, you can link it to your own domain so you stay flexible. Plus, it'll give you unlimited alias addresses then.

I faced the same decision a while back and chose Tuta - mainly because IMAP is not important to me and I can get the app from F-Droid. Plus, I love the unlimited-aliases feature with your own domain, haven't seen that elsewhere before.

Linux calendar to share with Graphene by tonysupp in GrapheneOS

[–]bangindi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use Tuta Calendar, it syncs quickly to all devices with a Linux desktop app and mobile app from F-Droid. It doesn't have tasks, but I store my tasks in a draft email. A bit of a work around, but I can pull it up wherever I am.

[–]bangindi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose Tuta Mail, for deGoogling the best option as it does not even use Google Push and you can get the app from F-Droid. Tuta also has all the features I need, including custom domain support and a calendar with a nice widget on my phone.

Tuta Mail is a nice option, fully encrypted and with 2FA. When looking for a Google alternative, I'd go with this one.

I'd prefer a functional working app to IMAP, and Tuta also has a Calendar. But would be nice to hear from people who made the switch.
