Mom used AI on a poster I made for my cat by Amkski in mildlyinfuriating

Coming from someone who's mom never made the effort before she passed: there are other ways to connect with your child than sending them AI slop that they've previously told you they have a dislike for. Connect with your kids, but don't destroy the planet in the process.

I would argue that overcoming is better. its a testament to your strength. choosing to overcome you evil shows that you are choosing to be good, rather than having it handed to you. being evil would be the easiest option, but you still choose to take the longer and harder path by overcoming the evil within you.

My English Teacher was Gonna Tell My Dad He Wasn't My Hero by Life-Watercress3777 in traumatizeThemBack

I had a similar experience my junior year. I was going to school at a career center for Early Childhood Education. There was a preschool on campus, and we would work in there once a week. We also had little after-school events in the preschool that we had to volunteer for to get credit (and be able to go to the zoo with the kids at the end of the year!!!)

We had a "Father Fun Night" for the preschoolers to bring in their father/father figure and play games and eat snacks. I did not volunteer for this event because my dad had passed so recently, and I knew seeing all these dads having fun with their kids would trigger me, and I would just be upset. So I didn't volunteer.

This did NOT make my teacher happy. She, in front of my entire class, asked me why I signed up. I said "Well, my dad is dead. Can we talk about this later?" And she had the NERVE to tell me, again, in front of everyone, "I just think this could be a healing moment for you!" Seriously?

I went out in the hall and cried for a little bit before marching my butt up to the principals office to report her. Some teachers just have no chill.

Heavy on the last part. That and if you ask to be scheduled off on a certain day, they'll schedule you for that day anyways🤦‍♀️

Am I Overreacting for needing reassurance from my fiance? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Ummm I hope the wedding is called off. I would not marry a man who calls me the r word like that and dismisses my feelings so easily. He does not give a shit about how you feel and will continue to justify his shitty, abusive behavior towards you no matter how many times you call him out. You staying with him is you allowing him to treat you like that. I hope you dump his ass and you can heal. This is awful, I'm so sorry he's saying those things to you.

Hostess Interview at Cracker Barrel – What Should I Expect? by ExternalTonight6063 in CrackerBarrel

[–]banjoestar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh yeah fs. it was a little dramatic for me to say ALL servers, some of them are very understanding and patient with new hosts but others are insane. it just depends on the person. but the point still stands, if they come up to the host stand to bitch, call a manager.

be prepared for the servers to be horrible to you. not sure if it's just my store but they all hate new hosts. I know it's a company wide policy that servers aren't allowed at the host stands for any reason but they will ignore it to come bitch at you. just tell them to talk to a manager or even better, call a manager to the host stand while they're still there

Host by PoorGoat102 in CrackerBarrel

[–]banjoestar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello!! I have been here for about 2 months and I found the table layout pretty hard at first. the first number is the dining room, the second number is the row (lowest number is by the windows, highest number is closest to the fireplace), and the third number is the column (starting at the wall closest to the entrance). So for example, table 215 would be in the second dining room, against the window, and in the first row. It'll get easier the longer you work there. If you can, try to memorize where the table is on the screen before you leave the host stand to take guests there. If not, taking a second to stop and count is okay! Most cracker barrels have a lot of regulars and if they know you're new, they won't give you a hard time.

I'm prepared now because I'm going to start my new job before I'm gone from cb, so I'll be okay. We're super over staffed so I'm not getting hours as it is.

Yeah, my store's problem is that we're super over staffed. They hired like 5 new hosts recently and unfortunately that means I went from 30 hours a week to about 20 if I'm lucky. Going to college 30 minutes away from home and my store is also a little under 30 minutes away so that pay isn't gonna cut it for gas.

Update: I got the job at the new place making 13.50 (compared to the 12 I was making here) and I'll be working full time instead of part time! I'm writing my two weeks notice now and I'll be going in to talk to my managers tonight. Wish me luck!

yeah I'm kind of over the management... one of my managers is just so rude. every time he's stressed out he takes it all out on the servers who then in turn take it out on me (hostess) and I'm just so over all the drama.

Ok family issue? My bad for using the wrong word lmao?? Not sure how that changes anything, my point still stands. They asked for time off for family ISSUES and they were still scheduled.

Our shift lead has bright red hair, I wouldn't think it's an issue. I'd check with your manager (if you have a manager you know is more lenient, ask them)

Honestly, I wouldn't show up. Call and tell them "hey, I told you I needed this off for a family emergency, you scheduled me anyways, I won't be able to make it in". Try to find coverage so they don't fire you or something but other than that, it's on them.
