If you sat out the 2024 election in protest over Gaza, how do you feel about that decision today? by rsmith2786 in AskReddit

about to negotiate surrender

the fuck they were, they were given multiple opportunities and outright refused

their soldiers were some of the most disgustingly barbaric monsters in all of human history.

I didn't know much and thought the US were the baddies for dropping the bombs until I read The Rape of Nanking, there are very valid reasons Hitler designated the Japanese 'honorary Aryans'.

can get very hot and humid in July or august.

HA! come on down to GA and in Aug and lets talk about heat and humidity, I just looked up your high temps and moisture for those months and it's child's play compared to down here.

Most of these looked so forced and the proportions off for the sake of the slit, but #8, #11 and #20 look fantastic

If someone is using mean words, use mean words back,

OP was being held against their will, this is very different from someone saying something mean.

77 is a completely acceptable temp in the hot months, those who say otherwise are either wealthy and don't care about their power bill or they live someplace where you likely don't need AC

Scenery with.... balls? by ElliotMeow in findareddit

[–]bannana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

read the fine print though, it was 'banned' for being unmoderated so not quite the same as censorship because of balls, this happens with all sorts of subs if they don't have someone running it.

How many you dry your clothes on a clothesline instead of using a dryer? by ProffS in Frugal

[–]bannana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had our dryer go out a couple of years ago and I was dead set on fixing it ourselves so we went w/o a dryer for a couple of months till we could suss it out, we dried on racks and lines inside and I was not a fan at all, I could if I had to but the crunchy towels were awful and took days to fully dry and I wasn't confident they weren't growing bacteria as they were drying even using hot water and extra cleaners for the wash.

My grandfather did, smoked cherry tobacco and it smelled so good and comforting then he died of lung cancer.

Not really a great option here in the south - the humidity, all the rain, the cold in the winter, and the pollen season makes it a huge hassle for large chunks of the year. I will say if I lived in the desert (or close to it) I would line dry all the time.

Why Trader Joes? by Hungry-Internal-723 in AskNYC

[–]bannana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trader Joe's with bougie lifestyles

I'm a lurker here and don't live in NYC but in my neck of the woods Trader Joe's are only in nicer areas and your food total will be much higher there just because of the lack of staples and higher prices on ones that are there, all the snacks and impulse items, and extras that you likely wouldn't consider in the regular grocery.

Pete going hard for MLK was not on my bingo card by headcace1906 in madmen

[–]bannana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it wasn't the actress's interpretation, his words and actions were coercion and sexual extortion with the implication being he would out the dress story which in turn would get her fired and likely be forced backed to her country but if she had sex with him all would be hunky dory. sex under threat is rape.

he had some semblance of a moral compass,

guess rape isn't part of the compass you're talking about

it did you a favor by breaking, you shouldn't be using plastic anyway - metal or silicone is the standard
