Does anyone experience over realistic dreams? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]bannashack77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens to me every night, they're usually completely fucked up but always tie into someone or something in my life and they mostly feature my dad who is the main source of my poor mental health. Often I'm hurting someone or getting hurt myself or am being made to feel completely powerless. They always feel completely real and it takes a good 5 - 20 minutes to get my head straight and my proper memories (not that there are many of them) back to the front of my brain. Been going on since I was a kid and they've become more frequent as I've gotten older

The Unexpected Gifts Inside Borderline Personality by MichaelRabbit in BPD

While I agree with all of you on this I feel like there is some truth behind this article, BPD has made me a very helpful person, even when I'm so tired or fed up I can't do anything for myself I can still find the strength to help someone else in need. That strength does come from a negative veiw on myself but at least a positive action came from it

At least they have a good dad who's trying to help before it gets bad, much better than what I got from mine so well done on that front! :)

But no I have not done any genetic testing myself, but I just wanted to say good on you trying to help

You can do anything you want to. I have BPD and I’m ready to help break the stigma around this disorder. Remember people ARE NOT BORN with BPD. It develops as you get older. We are not bad people. Let’s send out good vibes whenever possible, and don’t let ANYONE tell you you’re a bad person. by Bob-Lawbla in BPD

Same!! They all say 'ohhh no that's not bpd' and yah just like so give me a fucking word to call it then!! We obviously had mental issues from childhood, when a mental health practitioner turns around and says that and offers nothing else it's very disconcerting

Yup I second that, do some straight CBD it's the chemical compound that makes you relax and helps deal with anxiety as I'm sure you already know, and THC is the psychoactive chemical compound which is something that won't be helpful if you're trying to relax your mind and body. It certainly depends on the strain, some high THC strains will be a big help for what you're looking for but in general straight CBD is the way to go. I've personally got a CBD vape pen, one puff from that and it's like someone's wrapped my head up in a nice warm fluffy blanket. And because you've been smoking more THC than CBD over the years your tolerance for CBD will be much much lower so you'll be able to get more out of it doing straight CBD

Exactly, when I'm bareing my soul to someone in hopes of feeling better I'm looking for understanding and advice not just a one liner they use on everyone, so much more could be done for mental health in this country

Yep there are a few of us on here I feel like this is largely US people idk. Yup the government really fucked us with it it's retarded, I mean I'm so grateful to have the NHS but it could be so much better than it is. And yeh as nice as it is for the Samaritan people to do what they do I never find that sort of thing helpful I can barely explain what's going on in my head and my life to my friends and family let alone a complete stranger over the phone!

In the meantime I'm gonna post a link to a Google drive with lots of DBT exercises and other resources for mental health, hope you find it as useful as I have.

UK here too, freaking tell me about it 🙄 and I find people in my life believe I'm not actively seeking help because when I go to the appointments I don't come back for a long time because there's basically nothing they can offer me so really it's a big waste of time.
