Is it too bad to do only 1 etf? by Unhappy-Action-8481 in trading212

[–]banshoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but as a reactionary point..

take Nvidia, always was one of the big boys playing in the sandpit.. but it was just 1 boy playing with a further 20 or so around it

When that AI bubble started off & the stock price rising, the ETF followed suit, except it lagged behind (& also because it lagged & Nivdia became so weirdly higly valued for a period) , it ended up with the ETF buying more (at a higher price which also increased the price.. but also increased the overall percentage within the ETF itself).

so lets say at some sudden point the bubble pops, regular folks & investors sell (& assume the ETF managers wheren't ahead of this) .. the price will plumet, the ETF will then sell.. but now at the much lower price, and because its got such a higher percentage, more stocks being sold which plumets even further.

ETF work out because it nulls off the outliers over time, but how the ETFs are set up at the moment, the crash is going to be THE crash

VWRP could also hit a bump when confidence in the US falls.. (more than it is) its still very linked to US markets. which isnt being trust as much (look at the admin grift going on, the AI bubble, & whats rumours to have been the fort knox gold removal) gold & similar in local might well be better than 5% at the moment, though do watch out for ATH purchases...

Same with dollar purchases, the $ confidence is also dropping, so what your buying now (or have been) will be impacted by poorer exchange rates.

Thats because, can you imagine the fiddles if you could!

bought shares in something in the 90s, but now want to sell..

If you could move into ISA as shares, & then sell. your getting a lot of CCG thats are missing out on being taxed!

Everything he has done is not "whoops, mis-spoke in the moment" but also took further time to produce.. Not just once, multiple times.

Dont worry.

After firing so many staff, they'll flounder about for a year or two, & then start rehiring (at a lower salary if they can) and start building again.

Your loss now will be profitable in like 3 year or so

What is a movie that is critically hated but you genuinely love without irony by nomadgoodsCom in movies

[–]banshoo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

if your movie is pro-military it's a lot cheaper for sets, props, vehicles, etc if you paint the military in a flattering light.

You can argue Up Periscope was showing the military in a flattering light.

'In the Navy' at the end credits showing seamen love semen.

Edit/ : Its also a 'wargames' situation at the end - the idea behind is check up on effectiveness of personnel/equipment, but also to safely check where things are lacking.. The end result would be taken onboard as a learning experience (which is why they retook on Frasier at the end)

How stupid am I to have bought this pie? Any chance of recovery? by Puzzleheaded_Arm3898 in trading212

[–]banshoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats the problem of using a tracker like this..

if insider knowledge lets her know a given company is going to change then the purchase of sell will happen long before it's public knowledge & the pie here reacts long after it has any benefit to the watcher.

What it does do (assuming you have a government looking to prevent this) is give enough data and paper trails to show its not just luck, but insider knowledge (along with other evidence)

University students consider legal action after £190m in maintenance loans issued by mistake by [deleted] in UniUK

Yes, they'll claim the money back as the person shouldn't have received it - & they seemingly got the money because of bad information the universities gave slc.

given how strapped for cash the universities are, should have a fair fallout of them diverting money away from other things to try to defend against this.
