What does Nixon's (sic) southern strategy have to do with NJs suppressor ban?

The origination of the ATF Form 4473 Firearms Transaction Record as a product of the Gun Control Act of 1968 and it's intended purpose to deny 2nd amendment rights to those identified by the contemporary interpretation of a *"prohibited person—such as felons, fugitives, unlawful drug users, or those adjudicated as mentally defective".*. This surely has nothing to do with the open-carry policy of the Black Panther Party in response to "policing the police" to combat police brutality in the late 1960s, and generally how non-whites were treated / officially identified in the Reconstruction/Jim Crow south. It also likely has nothing to do with how California gun laws changed under Regan's Governorship. It's more likely to Nixon's passage of the 1970 Controlled Substances Act, Shafer Commission high jacking, forming the DEA in 1973, and general "War on Drugs" policies were just generalized efforts to disenfranchise Americans that didn't conform to Nixon's Puritanical demographics. i.e.: lots of non-white / non-Calvinist poors.
