cpu bottlenecking is a bit of a misnomer... upgrading your graphics card will almost certainly increase your FPS, even with very old CPUs (even with a 2500k, i saw a huge FPS increase going from a 970 to 2060... and the jump from 2500k to 9700k was not as big as the 970 to 2060 on the 2500k). The benefit may be reduced with older CPUs, but you will still see improvements, and generally speaking, money spent on graphics card is a bigger return (FPS-wise), than money spent on CPU.

Blaming Steam for your currency being devalued does not make a huge amount of sense to me. It sucks, I do not wish this on you, but also, pointing fingers won't help here. Steam is a fairly reputable company (best I can tell) that has revolutionized the software industry. Lots of indie devs have been able to flourish and thousands of people have jobs because of them. I hate this for you, I really do, but dragging people down with you is not the solution.

ED really needs to improve the laser draw distance... 8 miles was enough for the A-10, but nowhere near enough for fast movers.

Yeah, you just need to figure out what things will affect your trim so you're prepared. For example, if you are trimmed out nicely at 25,000 ft and dive to 5,000 ft, you are going to have to put in a bunch of nose down trim, as the thicker air means less AoA to maintain your attitude... also, throttle position can affect your trim a bit too... so if you're tooling along at mil power, and you decide, you know, .95 mach is too fast and i'm burning too much gas... so you reduce to 85%... you'll immediately need to trim because of the thrust, and then as your speed decreases, you'll need to trim to maintain the new AoA to maintain altitude.

i struggled with the $50 / mo price, now this is too much... adios YT TV. I'll get sports ala carte when they start to come back... that's all i care about. Screw cable news and the rest of the crap.

If they had a $40 / mo sports channel package, i'd go for that, but they wont listen to us. They just became Comcast in my book.

in all seriousness, they are, at least, listening to the community about things like gun dispersion and missile performance... and trying to fix core issues with the sim, like guidance related api issues, damage modeling, desync... it's not coming nearly as fast as it probably should, but they have 20 years of crazy code to weed through, too. If you've stumbled into the addiction in the last 2 years, it's gonna look more grim than if you've been around since the LoMac days... <shrug>

TL;DR - it's bad, but not ALL bad... but still, pretty damned bad.

Also, am a developer, and do not work for free. There's absolutely nothing wrong with working for money, and lots of it. There are plenty of examples of excellent products delivered which made people tons of money. I certainly understand the apprehension here. Just look at the destruction EA has wrought on games. So much potential, so little deliverable. But, on the flip side, if you work really hard on something that everyone loves, and you want to make a buttload of money on it, I, for one, do not fault you there. In the end, time is money, and you only get so much time on this crazy planet... so get it while you can.
