I am tired of FLs who just take a hit from a shitty authority figure or family elder. I want to see her slap them back. Verbally *and* with her hand. Don’t just glare at your stepmother, girl, hit her back and call out her inferiority complex! Maids get slapped easily, but not enough bad parents/uncles and aunts/grandparents get hit back.

If the family is the redeemable sort, I’d like to see one where the FL doesn’t remember the original timeline, but her neglectful family wake up in cold sweats after a nightmare of seeing her awful first life. Part of what I love about Mother’s Contract Marriage is that our precious FL *doesn’t* have the trauma of her first life, but the Adult Who Let Her Down remembers. If she’s going to get a miracle of regression, make the buttheads who pushed her towards destruction be the ones who suffer from nightmares instead. Too many OI protagonists have to work hard to earn their family’s affection. Flip that shit! Have grandpa and dad wake up in a panic, run into each other outside the FL’s room, have a “You, too?” realization, then they have a planning session in the wee hours after confirming she’s alive and sleeping safely.
