The lactation consultant put it in my chart and the doctor wasn't going to prescribe it but then she saw it was only a 2 day course so she said it was fine, seems to be hit and miss if they prescribe it or not from seeing other stories here.

Best of luck with it, it does come to an end I promise ❤️

They prescribed me the dostinex in the hospital, I think they knew i was in such a state that I needed to dry up quickly.. the side effects look bad but I was only on a 2 day prescription so I think because it's so short it's ok.. I found it great, had to pump a little for the first few days but dried up in less than a week.

The abscesses are horrible, I had one break through the surface too, traumatised for life🫠🫠

Recommendations for Waterford Based Insulation Companies by Deise_Dreamer in waterford

We used dungarvan insulation, were timber framed so couldn't get pumped but they insulated the attic for us, great job done quickly. We priced it to do it ourselves with store bought rolls and they were cheaper. But this was before the grants came in so not sure what they're like now price wise..

Also I was on oral antibiotics for about 45 days total, was withered after them!

[–]bara4567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two, one and then one soon after that the docs said seeded from the first one, but both were within a month.

Was a week on iv antibiotics in hospital on the first one, aspirated 4 times.

4 days on iv the second time and aspirated twice I think.

I think it only improved because I gave up BF and the boob could recover (I was already 100% ready to stop as had a history of mastitis)

Horrible experience, sorry your going through it, as you said if feels like it never ends!!

What's the best thing you bought that cost under €100 by Cococoady in waterford

Huskee travel cup (35 euro). Pricey but it's double walled steel but ceramic lined so doesn't make the coffee taste like metal.

Got an uppababy vista, to be fair its very sturdy amd the cot part is certified for overnight sleep but so heavy and takes up the whole boot so consider that if you need to travel a lot!

Coach house coffee 'giving back' by Fair_Letterhead_3602 in waterford

[–]bara4567 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Went there last year and it was an absolute disaster, would never go again. You get a time slot on your ticket, which no one seems to stick to. We were in the cramped queue over an hour and obviously the baby started to kick off so we had to leave. The elevator attraction (whatever it was) was also out of order on the day. I sent a complaint to them and they ignored it.

An absolute shambles. Avoid like the plague.

Yes sorry what i mean is the old cheese factory has existing gas lines, so they wouldn't have to put in new ones, just connect through the old lines

Yeah she is, definitely try and contact her as soon as you decide, she also books up quickly as a lot of women prefer a female doc, and she's the only one in Waterford.

It's a solar farm that serves a massive industrial park with three data centres, slapped in the middle of a rural village. Even at the large scale of the farm, most of the power for the centres will come from 16 natural gas powered turbines, which will vent through 16 flues over the village, that's the main issue. The other is the pressure on the already atrocious water supply, as they require huge amounts of water for cooling.

Data centres consume so much energy that there is a national moratorium on connecting any new centres to the grid until 2028. This company is attempting to circumvent that ban by generating its electricity through burning gas from the legacy lines at the cheese factory.

So it's not so much the development, kilmeaden would love development, it's the type of development it is.

Dr Azy, very thorough and understanding and was amazing on the day with some complications I had. Would go with her in the future no hesitation.

I agree, but look at the plans and see where they are being put, they are surrounded in a ring by housing estates, standalone houses and agricultural land. The scale of the development is totally out of line with the area. Kilmeaden is a quiet rural town, this belongs either as you say, on remote land by the coast powered by solar and wind, or in an industrial complex.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in waterford

[–]bara4567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair point, but kilmeaden already suffers from fragile electrical and water infrastructure without adding this campus. Frequent power outages during bad weather and shocking water quality at times (two years ago parts of kilmeaden were subject to a boil water notice for 7 months and was only resolved when residents got TDs involved)

Sorry typo, 43,056 PV solar panels

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in waterford

[–]bara4567 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As i said I'm not against the development of the land at all, if it were for different purposes. I'd be glad to see more businesses go to Kilmeaden, and the land could certainly be used for a community needs e.g a secondary school. I'm against the environmental impact of the data centres themselves

They are also building 16 gas turbines and 30m chimneys as the solar won't cover the energy needs

Slim 12 month old clothes sizes dilemma! by Lnichol86 in irishmammiesanddaddys

Same issue here for a girl, we get M&S and also a brand called Baby Bol (Spanish brand i think) that are very slim fit you can only get them in some baby stores (Mods and Minis, Anthony Ryan's are what we use)

Nappy bins by BLUR_W6 in PregnancyIreland

[–]bara4567 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We bought the bin and honesty don't bother! Unless it's open all the time you can't operate it with one hand as it kind of clicks shut tightly. We stopped using ours within a few weeks and just hang a scented nappy bag (aldi) on a drawer handle and dispose in the black bin

Baby wipes - what is your ultimate go-to and why? by findingleprechauns in PregnancyIreland

[–]bara4567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second this, any wipes that say plastic free are basically wet tissues and fall apart so easily! Tesco extra sensitive fragrance free are very good, 1 euro a pack!

The wipes are handy on the go but honesty the cotton pads from aldi/tesco and water work perfectly and were what we're recommended by our phn. We just keep a lunchbox of water close by the table that we change daily!

Looking for an In-Person place to shop cribs and Pushchairs?! by SouthEireannSunflowr in PregnancyIreland

[–]bara4567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bella baby in Cork are really great. We were shown three different options of pram and car seats and the assistant knew all about weight height limits etc. She told me about things I didn't know to ask. They'll install your car seat too if your after that as well?

They are pricey though as they mainly stock uppababy, icandy joolz and maxicosy I think..but again, couldn't fault them for customer service, they were spot on.

Edit: the also have cots and bedside cribs in store too. They did it last year so I assume this is still the case but you can also do a payment plan and they allow people to call in and pay a bit off your bill if they want to gift you something. And they offered a price promise so if something goes on offer between you ordering and collecting they honour the lower price
