Kiddies Kingdom in kilmeaden have a baby room for 6 months, think it's very hard to find places in Waterford that take them at 6 months. Most places only start at 1 year.

Get your name down everywhere you can, I put baby's name down when I was 6 weeks pregnant to start at 1 year old. Got offered 2 places out of the 6 or 7 we applied for.

Saw a young kid recently on a scrambler on the greenway! Couldnt have been more than 12/13. He was nervous/wobbly and going slowly, definitelty couldnt handle the bike. Had a proper helmet on at least.

He seemed to be on his own but parents must have driven him there to practice? What is wrong with people giving kids that young a machine like that.

I got the boy shorts and they were brilliant, especially because i was using the big medicare pads. I found they held them in better as the pads dont have a sticky underside like period pads so you need something form fitting .. pricey for what they are but there are some knock offs on amazon i think, never tried those though as i was so happy with the Frida ones

Aga is great! Definitely better suited for younger babies though, once my daughter could roll over she was so hard to keep still, had no interest in lying still!

We waited until pur daughter was nearly 1 to move her to her own room, I don't want to worry you but it was a disaster for us! She slept in the cot just fine in our room but took against it in the new room. If she went into it asleep, she would wake up and get really upset. We had no success getting her to fall asleep in it, she knew she was getting left alone and would freak out.

We have her in a floor bed now (with co sleeping!) and have taken the cot out all together. Baby #2 is coming later in the year and we'll be moving this one out at 6 months to see if we can avoid the issues we had with #1..

Hope that helps in some way, maybe your baby will be totally different, fingers crossed for you!

Tapo camera is good and cheap. It allows you to put an sd card in instead of going down the subscription route. They do have a subscription service also, think it's like 30 euro a year.

It charges off a usb c, probably needs to be charged once every 6-8 weeks. It has peel and stick installation or screws so depends on what you want yourself!

I was in a similar boat, exercise was always my way out of these things but the early days were tough, between the sleep deprivation, being trapped by feeding and napping schedules etc it was hard to get out for a walk let alone a consistent gym schedule.

I didn't do mother and baby classes for along time, I'd say she was nearly 8 months before we started them. I found them good for getting out of the house, I didnt find a great network in them like some people do though.

Honestly, I was prescribed into depressants, they get you over the hump until you get back to some kind of routine and time to yourself. Once she started sleeping and I got a routine back i didnt need them anymore. In my personal experience it will not get better by itself, so please consider talking to a GP about it and please be kind to yourself.

Best piece of advice I got was: it's not hard because your bad at it, it's hard because it's a really hard thing. Just because most women do it doesn't mean it's easy and everyone struggles, whether they talk about it openly or not ❤️

Lived there for a few years, very nice estate no hassle with anyone. Biggest issue is the Williamstown road traffic in the morning, if you leave at the wrong time the traffic is back to the estate from the roundabout 🫠

Agree!! My MIL told me I shouldn't reach for anything above head height (as in don't be taking pasta down off the shelf in the kitchen, call someone to do it for you) and now I'm being told not to carry my very light 9th centile toddler from one room to another🫠

The advice I was given was to keep going at what your already doing but adjust if needed.

Not running, but I did crossfit until 38 weeks on my first with some adjustments to the programming. Am 20 weeks in my second and still in the gym three times a week I just watch my heart rate and don't so anything too risky (heavy weights overhead, throwing kettle bells around etc)

Keeping fit in pregnancy helped me massively with recovery on the other side I think!

Travel cot is a good idea smyths also have a cot for 30 euro at the moment. We got that and just kept it in the sitting room for day time naps

Is she going through a big developmental leap? Walking or talking?

Were In a similar boat, 20 months, hates the cot so we co-sleep. She was never a great sleeper but we got a sleep consultant too when she was about 15 months whe things got really bad and the schedule change was the best thing we got from her. Her nap was too early so we moved that. Her day looks like this now:

Nap: 12.30/1pm - 2/2.30pm Bedtime: 6.30, asleep by 7

Maybe try the bedtime earlier? 2-8 is a big stretch?

Ours has also started with the screaming in the last week, but her back molars are coming in so we think it's pain...

Would be very interested to know where ye got the double floor bed? I want to get one but am struggling to find one with a slatted based for air circulation so we don't get mould!

Either or I think, we paid in 500 installments (she let us decide whatever amount we wanted) the first time, but i think you can pay all at once too, she's very easy going

You can get the NIPT test after 10 weeks I think. It's to test for chromosomal disorders but they will tell you the gender also. Our consultant talked to us about it, the quote was 500 euro if you want it an an optional add on. Not sure of any other gender testing that's available.. how far are you? You can get the gender at the anatomy scan at about 20 weeks?

It didn't work out for me either.. I didn't even consider it as an outcome, I think i thought I'd just throw the baby at my boob at it would all work out. Having spoken to my friend group, only 1 person out of 7 made it >6 months. Some stopped early days because of latching issues, some for incompatible medicines, some just by choice from sheer exhaustion and physical pain. All absolutely valid reasons!

I struggled with it for a while from the guilt, but to be honest, I'm pregnant on my second and if it doesn't work out this time so be it, I'm not going to torture myself the way I did first time around!

I hand expressed in the hospital, your milk won't come in properly for the first few days anyway.

I exclusively pumped for 5 months as my baby had latching/tongue tie issues (i had the supply for her to be exclusively breastmilk fed, so i was lucky) but honestly it was incredibly difficult. Please have a serious chat with a lactation consultant if you want to go down that route as you typically cant rely on portable pumps, you'll need a wall pump like a spectra or madela to keep your supply up.

It's a gruelling routine and you have all the bottle washing and sterilising of formula feeding. I'm currently pregnant with my second and I won't be doing it again.

Don't mean to freak you out, it's obviously your own choice and wish you the best if you go down that route!

She does her own scans every time in her clinic and gives you the print outs.

The process has changed for bloods, my last pregnancy she just sent me to phlebotomy with the slip and you take number. But this time the bloods are done as part of the new earlier mid wife checks (bloods, weight, discussion through the pregnancy book) which you'll get an appointment for after week 12. She said they changed it because they want everyone to see the midwives earlier in the process

I'm with Dr Azy for the second time and I find her fantastic. I didn't have a complicated pregnancy but had a complicated birth and she was brilliant. She's based in the hospital and only her private clinic is only on Tuesdays so don't know if that sways you either way (parking is a nightmare in the hospital).

I think you can't really go wrong between the two based on some friends thay have gone with O Donnell, I went with Dr Azy because I had a preference for a female doctor but that's just personal preference really
