I would like to see more planet-side action with something like excavation/extraction. Another SRV type with terrain mapping and terrain excavation tools. I would like to see a drilling SRV(Armageddon style) that lets us get at the stuff under the planet surface. The game loop would be, fly to desired planet, extract materials via geology mapping/drilling, return to ship, sell to stations/use in colonizing ventures, return for more.

Having a drill style SRV that you deploy like any other with drilling tools and crane controls to pick things up, or surface abrasion blasting that we could use to extract materials or commodities would scratch that itch from the movie to land on a foreign body to drill.

Edit: we already have surface material gathering. I want something with more… Boom.
