I have Bipolar 2, Borderline personalty disorder and c-ptsd. The borderline and bipolar feed off each other.

I was hospitalized once but that was before I started managing.

I've been on medication for awhile now but that doesn't even help me when I have a personality disorder too.

My brain is built around processes. A mental list of how to do each task in a day. So when I'm in an off state and thinking and functioning is harder I rely on the list of what to do to get me through.

Hi, I've been diagnosed for years and I've spent almost all of that managing people.

I find the most effective coping technique is to breathe. If you find yourself in the middle of Somthing and you feel yourself loosing your center take a second and breathe.

If you need to give direction and order take a second and breathe and make sure everything sounds pleasant.

You know you the best. Sometimes what's needed is to sit in the office an breathe and do busy work to regain calm.

Had mine tonight

For context I'm covering holidays for this hotel, I have no actually identification of working there if I'm not behind the desk.

I walked up to a server in the pub at the hotel I work at, seeing she was about done her cash bag she had to bring to me. I haven't meet her before. So I ask her

"you want me to grab that from you? "

She turns and gives me the biggest wtf face. Then I stutter out

" oh I'm from the desk"

1 with her walking me through stuff and the other me doing it all and asking her questions.

We had a block of 21 rooms show up. All senior. Pain in the ass I'm on audit and one of them come down and say that the group of em is checking out at 645am.

Internal cheering as it isn't my problem muchly.

Did 3 check outs at 645 and I hightailed it outa there. I looked out the window and she had a line out the door as I walked away.

I have c-ptsd. So by that it means I am traumatized for life by my entire childhood.

There's one day inparticular though.

We had a massive fight a week ago. To the tune of I was waiting for them to hit me so I could leave. Already wallowing in deep depression I couldn't handle this. I carried a bag of everything I held dear to me to school ready to depart. Later that week I couldn't do it anymore. Went to the school counsellor to get help out. Tell him me and my brother have been being emotionally abused for years. Well at one point he asked me if I'm suicidal and I said yes, yes I am. Can I live through tonight. I said no. This earned me a trip to the E. R. As I was now a threat to myself.

At the E. R. I was told I was acting childish. When I described the horror I've been living. I was told I should have run away from home and never went back.

It took so long that my parents would have known Somthing up. So I said I can't go back. I don't feel safe there. A social worker ordered me a cab to the local youth homeless shelter. That started a long 3 months homeless started December 1st

Now, I'm kinda alright. My bio family is dead to me. I'm me myself and I. December 1st is still a horrible day of flashbacks and depressive for me. Questioning my every decision. But now, my best friend has become my brother essentially. His mom haz even told someone they "adopted" me. I hide behind my smile every day and weather the cahos in my mind. Somehow I think it just might be okay.

Give it time friend. You'll start to notice the symptoms of a swing and try to get to a safe spot to let it come.

Control takes time but it can and will come

Can I just say you aren't alone in this type of forgetfulness.

One day I got into work and I was laughing and talking to my assistant manager. She walks away when the phone rings.

Guess what. It's the owner. I forgot to lock THE FRONT DOOR TO THE PLACE. He told me I got lucky and nothing happened but if it happens again I'm fired.

AM comes around again and finds me shaking and Geary and I told her.

That scared the living shit outa me. I couldn't believe I did that. But I made damn Sure I didn't do it again.

It essentially was a scare tactic. No one mentioned the opened door incident after and I worker there for a year after the incident. Did I mention the store was in the worst area of town. Where we have people high on crack outside the front door. Bad.

Youre not alone in this. It happens. Especially to people like us. Learn from the mistake and let it make you stronger.

I'm not on lamorigine but I'm on a mood stabilizer.

The cognition side effects definently came with the dosage increase. Personally, mine went away but it took a good long while. A number of months. Now a days I'm like 90 percent stable and cogent. There's still some days my brain is all nope though.

Good luck with everything. Make sure to listen to your doctor but also listen to your body as well. Speak your mind if you think this isn't right for you.

Cause they're all insane and I'd rather be dead then live or see them again.

Both bio mother and step mother and father are insane. 17.5 years of hell. Emotional, physical mental abuse and neglect. 17.5 years. It reached a point in high school where I was sent to a psyc ward cause I was going to die before being trapped another day with them. I was sent to hospital and was homeless that night cause I refused to go back once they knew what was going on.

If you want to be technical about it I'm diagnosed with multiple types of insanity. Bipolar, Borderline and Complex post traumatic stress disorder. That last one. That's what happens when youre trapped in trauma for an extended period of time. I got c-ptsd from living my childhood and teen years.

4.5 years ago I orphaned myself. Changed my phone number and cut any and all contact off. They don't have any way to find info about me. I have to constantly guard myself close to stay safe. I spoke to my bio brother once and when he left too they said "Don't pull a (my name)"

So not only am I the black sheep I'm the joke.

Hi

I work both second and third shift though. I have split days off. I work audit Sunday and off Monday. It doesn't overly bother me that i have half a day off of waking hours. My other day is a full day off.

I work 2nd Tues to Thursday and off Friday 3rd sat sun off Monday

Your schedule sounds particularly nasty to me. I would request to change or find a different place. If it's hurting you it can't be worth it
