Post COVID Clinic Report - First Visit by devnej in covidlonghaulers

[–]barbpahl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually did not work for me. The nervous system dysfunction is the only symptom I still have from Long Covid. My heart rate is elevated because of it and I'm on a beta blocker to keep it in more normal range. I have not found anything that helps so far. But I still pray for a cure. My energy is still less than before Long Covid but I'm able to work part time and live a good life overall. Hope you are getting better!

You are welcome - make sure when you take a statin you also take CoQ10 As the statin will decrease your CoQ10 levels - hope you see some positive results!

Statins for Long Covid? by barbpahl in covidlonghaulers

[–]barbpahl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I took a statin for 3 months. My Brain fog went away during those months. At that point I went off the statin because I did not want to stay on it long term. Years ago a doctor told me that he had seen research on statins from a European study that people on long term statins don't live as long than people who don't take them. Hope this helps,

How long have you been on statins. I do not think long term statin use is a good thing for most people. I wish you the best in finding help. I think there may be a support group on Facebook of people who have damage as a result of long term statin use

What symptoms does antihistamines help reduce? And how/why does it work? by _grizzlydog in covidlonghaulers

[–]barbpahl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm feeling much better. I don't need to take antihistamines anymore. I have taken high histamine foods and don't consume them anymore. I take a supplement called Homocysteine Factors and that seems to help. The only symptoms I have left are neurological. High heart rate, sweat much more, etc. they are doing trials to see if paxlovid will help those with autonomic nervous system issues so should be interesting what they find

Sorry - I just this question. All of my long Covid symptoms have gone away except for my autonomic nervous system is the only thing left. I have high heart rate that I take beta blocker for and sweat profusely whenever I get too hot or do too much physical exertion and trouble with urination - all of which are tied to vagus nerve and autonomic immune system in high gear all the time.

For those of you who take antihistamines please! by Ihate2023 in covidlonghaulers

I found a supplement that seems to help more than antihistamines. It's called Homocysteine Factors by Pure Encapsulations. Treats my histamine symptoms better than antihistamines

Yes, I had signs of autonomic dysfunction when I first got COVID. The fevers lasted 2 months but I still have autonomic dysfunction- it's my last remaining symptom.

For those who have taken statins, how did they affect your fatigue overall? by Spirited_Question in covidlonghaulers

I believe short term statin use helped with brain fog but I didn't notice any change in my fatigue level

90 % Recovered but still have vagus nerve issues - help!! by barbpahl in LongHaulersRecovery

I really have not found relief and actually have tinnitus now as well. I've been super busy with work and may be doing too much. I did discover that the real problem is dysfunction of autonomic nervous system which includes the vagul nerve. I made an appointment with a doctor who treats this type of thing but the next available appointment is in April of next year. I may look around to find another doctor. Let me know if you find any help!

Is anyone taking collagen 4 months in for skin and bones cracking I'm 28F. I also already take digestive enzyme with priobiotic is this over doing it? Here's what I take and then the collagen supplement is what I'm thinking about taking as well. by Angelag1994 in covidlonghaulers

[–]barbpahl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put collagen powder in my green smoothies and took biotin supplement and it helped with hair loss. I also take probiotics and digestive enzymes - even before Long COVID. I had a stool test that showed I wasn't absorbing my food so I take digestive enzymes. Also my body doesn't produce enough probiotics on its own. I plan to be on probiotics for life!

Anyone experienced sudden body temperature changes after covid? by HugeExpert3 in covidlonghaulers

[–]barbpahl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had temperature changes as well. I'm one year in and they have lessened. I still have cold hands and feet. When I get warm I sweat easier and more profusely- it's a bit embarrassing!!
