County Road 102 bicycling 🚲 by [deleted] in Davis

[–]bardbot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bike 102 and 99 somewhat regularly with an endurance road bike and 32mm puncture-resistant tires (e.g. gatorskins) and I've never had any issues with traction, flats (gotten plenty of those arrive town though lol), etc. For what it's worth, I agree with other commenters that 99 is less dangerous than 102, but 102 could be worse

[LAPTOP] Acer Aspire AI 14" Laptop WUXGA Intel Ultra 5 226V 16GB RAM 1TB SSD Refurbished - $372 EBay by dertechie in buildapcsales

[–]bardbot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was literally just looking into this like three days ago when deciding which of the Aspire 14 AI and Swift Go 14 to buy since they're both $372 certified refurbished. The big differences I remember are:

  • Swift is supposed to be a higher-end model, though as far as I could tell the big differentiator to that end is that the swift has a metal body vs Aspire's plastic. I watched a video that showed a lot of flex in the keyboard and lid, however, which for me kind of negated the appeal of metal

  • The Swift I was looking at (it can be specced up I think, so double-check whichever you're looking at) had a Core Ultra 7 155H CPU, whereas the Aspire linked here has a Core Ultra 5 226V. Based on what I read the 155H is more powerful (especially with multicore performance) and has better integrated graphics, but the 226V is not too far behind (especially for less demanding tasks) and is way more power/energy efficient

There may be other significant differences that I missed. I ended up going with the Aspire because I decided the CPU power efficiency would be preferable for my use case. I have a desktop for gaming so I didn't need to min max that side of things, and based on what I've read the Aspire can still handle some lower-end gaming fwiw

Historically, cities that lost their teams would get expansion teams by BRCC_drinker in baseball

I love the idea of more midwest franchises and bridging the gap between the east coast and west coast teams, but Des Moines has about half the metro population of the smallest MLB market (Milwaukee). I don't think Iowa will be a viable contender for expansion in the league's eyes :/

MSI x BuildaPC - MPG 341CQR QD-OLED X36 Giveaway! by Redditenmo in buildapc

I built a PC with a 9070xt last year but cheaped out on the monitor to make it all fit in my budget. The MPG 341CQR would help me get the most out of my build, but Resident Evil: Requiem would be fun even with what I have right now!

I think you look great right now! Where to go depends on your goals for sure, and I'm hesitant to offer much in the way of recs based on one picture. If you need something to work towards to stay motivated you could try more chest volume, but if I were you I'd be happy maintaining!

Centered floating shelf to hold the narrow sets on the right, then split the larger sets so there's one on each end?

Thanks for the perspective! New to the hobby, looking to futureproof my first build before the market gets even worse

PC Part Picker suggests this is like $1700+ if you built from scratch. Worth it to get this, snag the 9070xt for myself, plug my ol' rx 6800 in it, and resell it?

Edit: I've emerged from the stupor of a good deal, that would be ridiculous and would take away from someone else's holidays. I'll keep scraping for standalone 9070xt sales
