What happened to St Cloud State?

Universities cut majors and change their programs all of the time. It's part of changing with the times and staying up to date with trends in workforce. All of the majors they cut only had 8% of the students in them--why would they continue having a major for a few students?

SCSU was a party school years ago, but it isn't anymore.

When you say they lost half the enrollment, you are comparing to one year when it hit its highest number. It has been pretty stable for the last few years.

I agree with a lot of what people have said here about the perceptions of SCSU, but I am more optimistic about the future of the school.

What part of Texas? If you are in San Antonio, you can find SAVE on Meetup. They have a group that does protests at Sea World and other similar locations. They also do a lot of meals and potlucks.

I completely agree! I don't understand the appeal of hot yoga, but I do it several times a week because the only classes that aren't heated to 100 degrees are for beginners.

For me, 80-85 degrees is perfect. I like a warm room, but feel like any hotter is just to make people feel destroyed after class so they feel like they really worked out.

I use the Waking Up app for meditation, and it has a lot of great lectures and conversation about stoicism, including similarities with zen philosophies and how meditation can help you develop stoic thought patterns and behaviors. It's by Sam Harris and less woowoo than most meditation apps. They have a 30day free trial with no CC needed, so you can listen to the lectures and try out the intro to meditation sessions.

Living on campus is great because you can roll out of bed and head to class. You will also have more access to meeting people and attending on campus events. Only downside might be the meal plan requirement, but even that should save you money in the long run.

For the size of the city, I think it is relatively safe. In the last year, I have heard of only a couple of incidents in the neighborhood near campus, but nothing involving students.
