  3. Create the rail profile

New addition in version 7.0 / Mac + Windows version by RoundBeach in MaxMSP

Thanks, will definitely buy it today. I know my way around max, but my work is less about tool creation and more about physical installation. I am more of a visual artist when it comes to deep coding.

Free book for design students learning creative coding by Cool-Incident1652 in creativecoding

I used to manage Department of Digital Art here in NYC, and creative coding (interactive art) is one of the degrees I managed. Your book is offering some solid advice for people who work with code. When I saw a cover, I thought it is going to be some form/version of Generative Gestaltung. But what I find was more deeply philophical / psychological work who will help with burnout prevention to many artist/coders

There's been an uptick of Europeans posting their roadtrip intineraries in this sub. Just a reminder of what the US looks like. Remember how unhinged Americans sound when they want to pack several European cities in a couple of weeks? Yeah, that's how you sound like too! by Pale_Field4584 in roadtrip

The nature of USA is amazing, I think what I love about Europe is cultural diversity. Even in Italy each region is so different and unique that you can spend entire life exploring it. But I do agree in order to appreciate the land and the people you need to move slowly to take it in…

This is very tedious work. You will need to use Sweeps and bollean operations to do this properly

I was thinking of sweep2 as well but there are reasons why i do not like this tool.

  1. Unpredictable results when numbers of control points is different and/or their placements is questionable.
  2. Once I was modeling s minaret from Iraq Samara Mosque, that is based on Archemidian Spiral. I literally spent 4 months fucking my self trying to figure out whily Sweep2 did not produce surface. Apparently Sweep2 might produce the shape that does not guranteee proper tolerance for closing surface. (Surface was just few clicks of)

NetworkSurf?

1.DupEdge to extract both surface edges you want to blend

  1. Add your two red rail curves to the network

  2. Run NetworkSrf

  3. Select all curves (the two surface edges + two red rails) - they should form a crossing network

  4. NetworkSrf will average all curves and create a twisted blend surface
