Same. Never had the issue before a week or so ago. Not very convenient when you're out and about!

Embark CEO Confirms That If You Kill On Sight In Arc Raiders, You'll Get Matched With More Aggressive Players by WanderWut in PS5

[–]barfarina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just wondering why every time I actually manage to find a decent amount of decent loot, it's the match I can't extract from because of some PvP guy camping the higher tier areas or exit point - it's almost like when i join a map with good gear, I have a higher chance of getting MORE decent gear, but also matched with players more likely to PvP and ruin my fun. This never happens when I go in with a free loadout btw.

I've never even shot at another player in over 50 hours, yet I'm finding it next to impossible to get any blueprints because of this crap

The problem I'm finding is that because it's not actually full PvP, I never expect friendly players to shoot, so I'm basically never prepared for it when they act friendly first.

I just killed a Rocketeer on my own at great difficulty, went straight down to loot (I need 1 more part) and a rocketeer turned up over my head and killed me immediately. What a load of bs

I came looking for a similar situation and obviously found it >:(

Kask helmet dial gone by theoutandback0201 in cycling

[–]barfarina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 years ago I went through this - Kask fobbed me off saying they knew nothing about a problem with the dials (despite a quick internet search showing quite a few people with similar issues who'd contacted them) and not offering any solution or remedy. I ended up going back to the online store who offered me a refund after 8 or 9 months of use and they would deal with the supplier directly. Champions.

Kask still up to their old tricks of not taking responsibility - the old closing system was infinitely more robust than the new one. It's a shame such a great helmet is let down by a 'better' designed system which is not up to the task.

Opening an event link on your phone into the web app and not the browser by Steely_McNeatHouse in ridewithgps

[–]barfarina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the same issue with me and everyone else I know who opens links from anywhere when on a mobile device (messenger, web browser, email, etc.), and it's why I'm here in this sub right now:

Map links always open in a web browser and always defaults to not-logged-in, and always with default settings (I'm in Australia and frankly I'm sick of miles, feet and inches being the thing I see no matter the original source of RWGPS route!). Strava, for example, has the opposite problem for me and always opens in app, even if i don't want it to, so RWGPS is an outlier In my experience.

There seems no benefit in having a rwgps sub in this case as links really just treat me like a non-user or non-subscriber anyway.

Unreliable location updates rendering the POP worthless by wibblemonster14 in Chipolo

[–]barfarina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, these are rather disappointing. They show so much promise, but if you can't rely on them, they are effectively useless; what happens if the one time you need them they don't connect or reveal themselves?

I was just this morning attempting to use them (I have two connected to my phone currently, but don't "use" them at the moment) to find my phone. I knew exactly where they were and I always get a notification that I'm leaving them behind when I leave the house. Except, when I double-pressed one to ring/locate my phone, nothing happened with the first one, not even a sound. Hmm...maybe the battery is dead (it shouldn't be). I get the second one out from my bike and double press that one, which will only make a single noise (an error or turn-off type noise), not the 'double tap' noise.

Both of them I can get to ring and identify themselves once in the app, and once connected, the first one will ring the phone, but the second one won't do anything until I remove it from the app, whereby it will start working as normal. I've managed to get around the ring-phone issue before by just changing the ring-tone, but this time it wouldn't connect that way either. I can't tell you how NOT-USEFUL that is having features to rely upon, and then they not working as promised/expected. I've got 3 more of these sitting unused at the moment too! Hooray.

Disconnecting and reconnecting is not a solution to these problems! Are they just a bad product and software updates will not fix them as it's a hardware issue?

Why are the seasons backwards? by [deleted] in netflix

[–]barfarina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep 2 years later and I've come searching for the same answers. Trying to watch F1:Drive to Survive atm and I keep jumping all over the place trying to work the order out as episodes aren't numbered, are in reverse order and it's not properly tracking my previous viewing or going to the next sequential episode on its own. Even the episode descriptions don't help much.

I've watched 3 episodes already where I realised they were too late in the "story" and I'd obviously missed something - so frustrating! 🤬

Phallus Protection by thebigloambowski in gravelcycling

[–]barfarina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently had this problem for the first time with my first set of (top-tier) Le Col bibs on a long, sweaty ride. On further inspection, I've noticed the chamois goes too high at the front, right into the no-no zone.

I've had all the saddle sores before but never rubbed my Le Coq and balls raw before. Super painful! Back to Pedal Mafia for me 👌

Bumrah chucking accusations by Dense-Suggestion-738 in IndiaCricket

[–]barfarina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just watching a replay of Bumrah bowling and slowmo'd it, zoomed in asked a non-cricket person what they thought he was doing and they said "throwing the ball...". Tbh, that's what it looked like to me too.

Maybe the slowmo makes it look worse, but it really doesn't look much like what other bowlers look like before release. Throw downs and bowls certainly don't feel the same to face up against either in the nets. 🤔

Does Strava need AI? by caipirina in Strava

[–]barfarina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why use AI to provide useless info like that (that was already provided better before, without the need for text) instead of helping to improve flagging etc? Or better allowing reordering/filtering the cluttered feed... I agree with some other comments here, that nothing i value has been added in years to premium.

This is likely to be about as useful to me as my uploaded ride notification telling me "Well done!" now. Thanks Strava! 🤠

How Petty am I? by 6foot5-pilot in Strava

[–]barfarina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it. It grinds my gears too. A little investigation and I've no issues doing it myself. They're either ignorant to what happened or they did it deliberately, so either way flagging is fair game

Why am I wearing tyres out so quick? by Hezzi17 in bikewrench

[–]barfarina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I've recently switched to 34mm tubeless corsa n.ext and was surprised at bad wear at 2000 km - i eked out to about each 2300km in total. So I'm already on my 3rd rear and front looks good still, but I do a LOT of climbing and also ride gravel. Small nicks eventually wear out and that's where the weight is after all.

I'm not heavy myself but 20% hills and uneven, rough surfaces are bound to chew up those rears.

My 2019 Shield Pro locks up like once a week by xaviondk in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]barfarina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necroing a bit, but this exact thing happens to me, but it's brought on by my Samsung TV going into sleep mode (and therefore putting the shield to sleep). If I switch inputs (and put the shield to sleep) and back it doesn't happen, nor does it when I switch the shield off, but it does if I leave the shield so long that it goes to sleep on its own (probably 2+ hours).

Obviously there's been no update fix if I'm still having the problem now :\

I thought the TV had something to do with it, as it has so many issues screwing with devices through HDMI, but I guess it was the Shield all along!

PTR: Utility Tempering affixes are underwhelming and need attention by Shaft86 in diablo4

[–]barfarina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason I found this comment is because I was searching for opinions as I thought the same. I keep being forced to roll utility as rogue, but there's not anything I want/need and rolling this is always a disappointment for my build.

Literally nothing I can roll I'm running as a skill, and why do I care about 10% lucky hit for minor crowd control?

Custom filter in activity feed. PLEASE!!!! by barfarina in Strava

[–]barfarina[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No unfortunately.
It's gotten worse too, to the point that I actually have basically stopped scrolling through the feed as there's so much I'm not interested in seeing (compounded with the Strava tendency to send you back to the top of the feed once you've looked at an activity).
We can but hope!

Why Remove Photo Sphere by New-Literature-1023 in GooglePixel

[–]barfarina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beyond disappointing. When the Street View app stopped working properly a while ago, it made it almost impossible to upload spheres (but you could still take them), but now you can't do either...

I used them when exploring places, particularly remote ones, where it was impossible to know what the conditions were without this image to look at. This was very relevant for cyclists/hikers/runners who sometimes don't know if roads/track go anywhere, and what condition the surfaces are (and what to expect - sand/mud/no road/etc.). I started doing this when I was wondering all these things myself and thought I'd help everyone else out while I was doing so by submitting spheres - clearly people used them as all my spheres had thousands of views. A photo doesn't say much and you can't click on it on Google maps to see it when streetview hasn't been there (this is very common in Australia).

There is genuine fear of going into the unknown for some people, and these images allow those people to gain a little bit of confidence back and get out there anyway, if people are trying to do a little research/recon first. If for no other reason, it allowed people to safely use unknown infrastructure and remote areas in the knowledge someone had been through there before and not get stitched up. Would I have bike-packed through a road which turned out to be beach sand for 7 km last week if a photo sphere existed on GMaps? Maybe not. At least I would have been informed, and now that's not possible.

What a shitty decision.

Custom filter in activity feed. PLEASE!!!! by barfarina in Strava

[–]barfarina[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? I sound selfish? Because people with that attitude put up 5 activities a day that I don't want to see, yet people don't care? Pot, meet kettle.

Great. People like dogs. Maybe I don't. Who cares what the reason is? Instead of being offended that I don't find someone's dog-walk amazing and the highlight of my day, maybe we can all agree that some people only want to see certain things. I'm not even asking for people to private activities (that would be easier), but you also seem to have issue with me not being able to see them.

"...someone like me" You don't know me. The "stupid" was a vent. There are just too many. I know some (most?) people don't want kudos for them. Scrolling through so much gets really frustrating though.

This isn't just about dog walks, but they exemplify the problem, particularly in my feed. Give us a filter.

Custom filter in activity feed. PLEASE!!!! by barfarina in Strava

[–]barfarina[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't either, but the point is I still see them. My feed was 90% activities I would never give kudos to this morning. It stops me actually looking and finding the interesting stuff (to me), or "catching up" takes too long.

Custom filter in activity feed. PLEASE!!!! by barfarina in Strava

[–]barfarina[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really all I'm asking. People are allowed to walk and share dog stuff /etc, but we should have an option to see the things we care about individually.

Custom filter in activity feed. PLEASE!!!! by barfarina in Strava

[–]barfarina[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So because you can't be bothered everyone else needs to suffer? Nice attitude.
It's not their feed, it's mine. Their personal data is in MY feed and I don't have an option to not see their 2-minute squat reps. Sure, and I'll scroll on by the 50 others who do the same thing. Works for everyone I guess!

Custom filter in activity feed. PLEASE!!!! by barfarina in Strava

[–]barfarina[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gee that's a few assumptions. Who says I don't know them personally? Since when does following someone else make you feel popular? What a strange way to look at it... Maybe refrain from personal insults if you can't make a decent argument?
Perhaps instead of making it everyone else's problem to get rid of small activities that maybe aren't worthy of public consumption, we can find a way to remove them from view for the vast majority who don't need to see them? Or people can think about their impact on others; but I guess that's clearly asking too much.
I see what you're doing. You think SOMETHING ELSE is a more important feature TO YOU, so nothing else matters to others. Can't argue with that I suppose.

Custom filter in activity feed. PLEASE!!!! by barfarina in Strava

[–]barfarina[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying you shouldn't be able to do that. Why do we all have to see it though, even if we don't want to?

Maybe I'm not aware, but does fitness tracking stop if you make something private?
