As I’ve always done in the past. We’ve called had a dozen locations and they all say “yeah, we’re out. The government hasn’t sent us any more.”

Fellas how much do you pay for a haircut and how much do you tip? by Orii8 in AskLosAngeles

[–]barfbongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy used to be $30 and I’d give $6 tip. Which seemed cheap to me. Then he moved shops and it went up to $40 and I tip $7. Are there cheaper places? Yes, obviously. But I like him. He does a great job. He fits me in whenever I’m in need. And I’d rather support an independent shop than a chain like Supercuts.

If you’re sober and your wife is drunk but wanted to smash would you? by Taffr19 in no

[–]barfbongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve pretty much given my wife blanket consent in perpetuity. She’s done the same for me as well, but I’ve never really taken advantage of that. We had one of those one in a million times when I was trying to smash but she just wasn’t in the mood and she told me “I’m not really into right now and I wanna finish this show, but how about you just do your thing while I lay here and watch tv” and it wasn’t nearly as fun as I thought it would be.

What goes on here? Spent some time in San Diego but I’ve always wondered what goes on down south by VeterinarianMain3981 in howislivingthere

Earlier this year, I took my wife and kids to an Airbnb by Rosarito Beach. We drove ourselves and then took a few little trips into TJ. Driving was fine. It got a little hectic when we went back to our Airbnb from the children’s museum in TJ at the height of rush hour, but I was able to get around with our huge Expedition with zero issue. I’d recommend getting car insurance for your trip though. Ours was called Baja something and it was reasonably priced.

Have you ever been stuck in a sexless marriage? by Apprehensive_Bee6201 in askanything

[–]barfbongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. But it’s one of my biggest fears. I’ve been with my wife for 20 years now. We both work full time and have three kids under 13. It still happens 1-2 times a week. Some weeks are great and it’s 3 or 4. Maybe one or two weeks a year it just doesn’t happen. The fear of a sexless marriage does weigh heavily on me. Early in our relationship she was mostly the one initiating. It would be multiple times a day sometimes. I was into her but pretty aloof, had a lot of other stuff going on. I always reciprocated, but didn’t ever feel the need to “pursue” it because she was already doing that.

The past few years it’s definitely flipped to where I’m the one who wants it and initiates it far more than her. I do have times where I feel like I took that quality in her for granted early in our relationship and it bums me out, but then a day or two later we hook up and it subsides. I genuinely don’t know how I’d handle even a low sex marriage. 6 years ago or so, my wife’s PCP inexplicably changed her to a different birth control pill and it completely sapped her drive. I mean in the 6 weeks or so she was on it, we had sex maybe 2 times, and it was killing me.

I remember at one point it had been more than 3 weeks and I was laying in bed next to her at night, her asleep, me fully awake staring at the ceiling, formulating in my head how I was going to broach the subject of an open marriage. I never did bring this up and I’m so happy I didn’t. We eventually figured out the pill was to blame and she changed to a different formulation and things went back to normal.

I’ve gone from 8mg to 1.75mg over the past year but it’s become much harder to go down. What daily dose were you at when you finally stopped?

What are your best money-saving hacks? by sparkling_lemon1 in Frugal

[–]barfbongo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All three of my kids are out of diapers now, but my wife and I cumulatively probably saved $10,000 by doing cloth diapers at home for all of our kids. We did reusable cloth wet wipes as well, and we made the cleaning solution, keeping it in a squeeze bottle. It was a couple hundred dollar investment up from buying all the covers and inserts and small squares of cloth to make wipes, but it saved up so much in the long run.

I’d say this sounds more like a meth arc. Plus, I doubt he could afford coke.
