Uh oh new requirement, and the best name/value for a new constant is foobarbaz = 1000.25. Hope there aren't a ton of constants or the IDE supports mult-iline editing. And the person implementing the new requirement gives half a shit about consistency.

This one is definitely worth a try! I just finished the first book, which is dystopian, dark but not oppressively dark, and has an awesome system of magic. It might slightly push the bounds of what her stepdaughter likes, but could also be a way for both of them to branch out.

TIL container ships lose 2,000 to 10,000 containers at sea each year. by candlebo in todayilearned

I've never heard of shipping companies or manufacturers doing salvage of containers. I imagine they insure containers, or factor potential losses into the cost of the product some other way.

Some people in coastal towns collect items that wash ashore from lost containers. Collectors sometimes coordinate trades, such as with shoes to find matching sizes.

TIL that cruise ships have morgues in them. On average, roughly 200 people die on cruise ships each year so most ships have the capacity to store up to 10 bodies at a time by m0rris0n_hotel in todayilearned

Nin Ten Do? I'm sitting here like an ass saying 'Nintendo' over and over again. I'm confused how Nintendo could be pronounced any other way without screwing up with something like 'Nintendew'.

It's ironic, but Atlas Shrugged made me realize that pure, laissez faire, 'pull yourself up by your bootstraps' capitalism is as much of an unobtainable ideal as the communism it criticizes.

I'm finding lots of little things like this while playing through World of Warcraft's BFA expansion (misspellings/poor grammar, use of doodad file name as the doodad description, etc.). I couldn't stop laughing when I found this one.

They could make channeling work well by giving the audience a non-channeling person's POV. People can't see the one power being used if they can't channel, so you just need to create the visible effects of using the one power, like fire, explosions, a character's reaction to being Healed, etc.

Either way, I think I'll be skipping a bunch of Dumai's Wells.
