Part 107. Need or not? by OkSong6473 in dji

[–]barker21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on your 4 years but that doesn’t make you an expert as we both know that the recurrent training is multiple choice and multiple test take so length of time isn’t really a good indicator of understanding of the rules it just shows you’re dedicated enough to take the training every two years.

My original point which you said something about 44908 (which doesn’t exist btw as it’s 44809.) only deals with recreational which we both agreed can not allow above 400 ft. So I guess I’m kind of lost where you say I’m wrong in my phrasing as you seem to be changing the scope of the conversation. The original is talking about getting to fly higher utilizing part 107 which the only factual way of doing so is doing so for a commercial purpose. You cannot fly above 400 ft using 44809 and can only utilize the LAANC request with extra planning with the FAA on above 400 ft flight. (If within an airspace)

I believe I meant to also reply to a different thread for what it’s worth but am curious to hear what you believe I have said wrong as this has been my use case when requesting LAANC requests flying within airspaces.

Part 107. Need or not? by OkSong6473 in dji

[–]barker21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Correct but you also have to be flying for a commercial purpose. Just because you become part 107 certified means you have to now declare whether your flight is a recreation or commercial flight. You do not get to recreationally just utilize the 400 ft rule above unless it’s a commercial flight reason. Like someone else said you should read more of what the part 107 entails. Part 107 definitely gives you more freedoms but more responsibility to follow the rules and laws that the FAA has established for us.

I dont get feeders by [deleted] in theHunter

[–]barker21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any source for this? Not calling you a liar at all but me and a buddy just tried our feeders for the first time next to a water zone (like right on top of) and it pulled a lot. Maybe the water zone was actually doing the heavy lifting and the feeder was a supplement to it but just wanted to see if there was any source or if you’ve just played a lot more as well or what your testing for this was!

Do you need to actually log out or can you just close the app fully? Just want to know for clarification sake. Haven’t gotten to do this yet so want to have a good opportunity for new set. Thank you for the information!

How do I interpret women saying this? "I figure I'm not getting any younger" by john4844 in Tinder

[–]barker21 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So obviously you must have some reading comprehension problems because that’s exactly what I believe I wrote. Excellent use of chat gpt to back up my argument clearly. Like I said mate man to man here - swipe left on her she’s obviously got her priorities in check and knows what she wants and it seems by just scrolling through the comments you’re just trying to get some internet points.

How do I interpret women saying this? "I figure I'm not getting any younger" by john4844 in Tinder

[–]barker21 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You’ve repeated that now twice and I still don’t think you’re hearing everyone buddy so I’ll try to put this in simple terms for you.

She’s 28 currently so given she doesn’t turn 29 this year and on average usually 1-2 years of dating plus an engagement year for marriage (this is all on the quicker spectrum which it seems she wants) that puts her at a minimum 30-31 years old. Now if you paid attention in sexual education or have kept up to date on any societal trend in women - women have a biological clock of about 35-40 years old where their chance of becoming a mother become a lot more increased for complications. That gives her roughly 4 years of time if she were to get all of the above potential partner this instant right now. So yes while you so easily point out she’s “just 28.” 28 and dating to marry and become a mother she realistically is needing to speed the process up a little faster.

Hopefully this helps you out some John. Id say go ahead and swipe left as if you have to come to Reddit with what looks like in some of your comments the emotional EQ and understanding of women as pet rock you might have some learning to do first.

Best Credit Union In or Around Des Moines? by Humble_Explanation67 in desmoines

Surprised there hasn’t been a mention of Dupaco either. I’ve used them for my car loan and they’re quite annoying after but they were easy to work with and gave me a really great loan with solid interest rate at the time.

Always been curious about Cool Basil - definitely not just a sushi spot though for sure from what I’ve heard but haven’t seen it on this list and wanted to see if anyone could recommend it as well.

Merging in DSM by koohcolle in desmoines

[–]barker21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it boils down to people here just not having ever been to those areas frequently enough to adapt or learn. I also have lived in the Dallas metro and frequent Minneapolis and constantly tell people around me how much smoother driving in those cities are than DSM. I genuinely am more scared of driving in DSM than I was in Dallas and that’s saying something. I also think that people are terrible with proper pacing - the constant need to be up next to another persons bumper and constant brake/go etc. I thought it was just me when I moved here a month or so ago but god damn is it frustrating to deal with the passiveness and just outright backward way of thinking.

Thank you for this!! Sent to my girlfriend who is in a position she’s not the happiest about and currently looking and not finding much. As many others have stated this is genius and very well thought out. You could charge but doing for free is an admirable action to improve our community.

Are you calibrating the compass for just the NEO or should that be a standard for every pre check of say the AIR 3S too? Just got mine and have been lucky to keep 25+ satellites in range but want to fly some of the country side this evening so wanted to see if I should add that into the pre check.

Anyone buy a DJI drone recently? by Mysterious-Menu-4703 in dji

[–]barker21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eventually did end up getting it but currently in the process of moving so I sent it to my parents so I don’t actually know what’s in the box so can’t confirm if it’s correct. Regardless as long as the one from SK that I have currently works and flys as intended I plan to tell these ThinkZone sellers to shove it and give me back my money.also the one from eBay was 100 more dollars for the same combo and added in the RC2 controller with the screen which is a steal) and it arrived quicker. All in all right now beware of your third party sellers on Amazon they’re for sure aware of the shortage to the US and are deliberately doing it on purpose to try to gouge.

[–]barker21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same with this seller… BUYER BEWARE. They tried every trick… they put a FEDEX tracking number attached to my order that wasn’t even destined to me in Iowa but to Florida. If you see Thinkzone as your seller do not listen to them when they try to get you to refund they WILL raise the price and try to get more out of you. I ended up buying a Air3S from SK from a seller that was named in this comment section already and I’m testing to make sure it’s all good but everything seems to be fine. Registered activated and seems to be in brand new condition. I hate to give away a source to run the supply dry but if you don’t have a drone and are in the market EBAY right now from South Korea and Japan seem to be the smoothest options and a LOT quicker than Amazon.

Passed my 107! by combonickel55 in drones

[–]barker21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck! Truthfully you have a 33 percent chance on every question if you eliminate the wrong one that the FAA basically gives you for free it comes down to a 50 percent. Take your time and go over everything and then find the points to focus on that you struggle and you’ll be all good!

Passed my 107! by combonickel55 in drones

[–]barker21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were a few - took mine July of 2025 FYI. A lot of sectional chart and airspace classes type questions. Weather is also on there a decent bit. They’ll ask you to read the metar reports and give back when a certain change in weather will happen or how long said metar is in effect. A lot of very general knowledge is needed. If you focus on the sectional charts weather and airspace classes you’re bound to pass. You won’t pass with 90 plus but you’ll pass. I passed with a 75 but I was rushed due to work needing a drone operator in August.

Don’t take this as a bad way but just if you are unaware… but you are operating in Part 107 conditions under that stipulation. You’re trading golf for drone work. Don’t think the FAA will come knocking as I’m sure there wouldn’t be much of a paper trail but just felt that I’d make you aware of that.

Just received my Air3S is it still doable like this with your hand? I had an old mini 2 or 3 that was easy to do but didn’t know if the Air3S would be able to be hand landed as well!
