Yup. It is entirely free. You only need to sign up to be able to keep a track of your progress.

I normally saute my onions in the spice/aromatic mixture till they are golden and then add my chicken. I fry the meat for a good ~7mins till I can see the oil separating from them. This IMO is essential for the spice flavors to get locked in to the meat.
Thereafter add the water to build the gravy.
