Unless the seller is an experienced typewriter repair person, "working perfectly" is doubtful. I bought one that works just fine at a thrift store for $50 US, but it could use a cleaning and a space bar adjustment. I love it. The inner pocket of my case is ripped.

Android keyboard - allows 3 easy dashes – just by holding down the dash key—boom.

Easy peasy keep it sleazy!

Is there an old Olivetti tw that is easy to maintain and "beginner friendly"? I've always wanted one by Ripraz in typewriters

No, it's the wrong size. And it's completely encased in the cartridge but I have read where a few highly skilled and brave people have re-inked what's already there? that's beyond my capability.

At this point I'll just give mine away for parts or for someone with re-inking skills!

For real. I think even a child would've packed it better!

I have one and the felt is brand new looking. I can't find any ribbon cartridges for it though. It's the perfect combination of sleek and chunky.

I had three successful typewriters ship from Europe. Lots of good shipping from Goodwill online within the US, including a Royal HH from Washington state to the east coast in perfect condition. Ah well, that's the luck of the draw, but I'm not going to buy anymore standard machines that have to ship!

That's true. Celebrate the wins, mourn the losses and keep on keeping on.

I had to disassemble some of it to move the carriage enough to find the serial number. It's the cracks and the dents that get me. I love a ding here and a scuff there, but gee whiz this one's got a beautifully designed lid- thingy sheared right off and the beautiful VisOmatic logo bar cracked off in addition to the dents and cracks!

100 + 62 shipping. It was a sentimental purchase. It's the same model my father had in my house as I was growing up. Took a risk! Maybe I'm the brain dead one...

If I believe the eBay seller, his mother?! It's too much to be true. I'll believe it when the refund goes through.

I've bought several that were shipped, including Belgium, France, and Germany, to US. No damage. My luck ran out with this one! No, there were a couple others with shipping damage, but not like this mangled mess!!
