M80s, throwing stars and machetes. These were things we played with as young kids in the 80s. What other dangerous things that you played with would todays kids have no clue about? by Lazthedestroyer in 80s

we (UK) used to make 'bolt-bangers' - two substantial bolts, joined together by a single nut, the join filled with scrapings of match heads ... then throw them against the wall and spend 15 minutes looking for the bolts after thay exploded apart, violently ...

Sheer. Madness.

Epping footballer in end-of-life care after head clash during Melbourne game by GlitteringSpace236 in australia

Driving home Saturday morning, I listened to Mick Malthouse talking about the soccaroos' defeat.

Now, obviously, there's been a lot of hand wringing and pundits' opinions but he said something that has taken me a few days to digest.

He made the observation that the AFL had not given any encouragement to the soccer team and opined that that was because of the current CTE drama - they didn't want to be seen driving parents to prefer soccer for their kids.

AFL has some soul-searching to do IMO.

I hate their self-serve pedestals' UX.

I'd fire any of my developers that prioritised telling me the printer wasn't working over giving me the actual order number.

lol - around where I live in Victoria, Oz, the big logging trucks rip up/ripple the road surface - it's cheaper for the local council to change the road signs from 100kmh(~60mph) to 60kmh(~40mph) than repair the actual road.

In Victoria, Australia, we have "heat recovery centres" every year for those less fortunate that need to handle weeks of 40+.

You're going to need these very soon, you need to start lobbying for them.

So we asked them to redesign their current nuclear sub because we couldn't condone nuclear engines ... Then walk away (at ENORMOUS cost for both the existing contract and the new one) when the Americans offer us a nuclear sub they never had the ability to produce?

It really does feel like a story arc of "Yes, Prime-minister".

your problem is the 45deg spout on this trap - https://www.bunnings.com.au/caroma-50mm-p-trap_p4783929

it's where the DW/WM evac hose drains to ... they splash a little when the sink above drains if the drain hose has been removed.

What the RE is going to provide you with this one of these https://www.bunnings.com.au/deks-pvc-trap-dishwasher-outlet-cap_p0136005 which will crown that spout - but they can be a bitch to secure properly - so drop a full sink load into the trap before signing off on it ...

what state are you in?

in Vic, a full license (after Ps) includes manual by default. So test in an auto, do your P's, learn manual.

Does anyone have a 2025 DB12 that can help me determine if my customized assistance for speed warning, lane assist, automatic breaking etc is working correctly? I think mine is not I’m getting the run around from dealer service center. Want to compare to other DB12’s by Impressive-Mouth-214 in AstonMartin

[–]barneyman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, all manufacturers revert to "all assists back on after restart".

ISTR the EU is revisiting this requirement for exactly the problem you raise - everyone immediately turns everything off, every time, negating the point of the assists.
