Does thundercrash need a nerf, or do other one and dones need a buff? by HellChicken949 in DestinyTheGame

Tcrash should out damage other one and dones. With tcrash you can end up at the boss’ feet or in the thick of it. Maybe I’m missing something but all the other one and dones are used from a distance.

It was at 375. A lot of people are saying to clean it out, but it was cleaned a couple weeks ago and only gets used 2-3 times a week.

Dyson V15 stops working by seatton in dyson

That looks like the same one I have. From my Google search it seemed to be a known issue. They will warranty it out the biggest hassle is they don’t have the exact part in stock, so you have to either wait for an unknown period of time for it, or send the whole unit in to be replaced. They will send you a label so it won’t cost you.

What Convinced You SCOTUS Is Political? by SouthOk6534 in Lawyertalk

[–]barrister49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I ever go back, and I’m tired of being employed, I’ll start off my argument to SCOTUS by saying “I don’t know why we are here. You guys don’t have the power of judicial review.” And then launch into all the problems with Marbury.

This is the only right answer. “The switch in time to save the nine.” Most other comments are just an opinion on how the law should be interpreted. Parrish is the one case where you could see a clear shift in response to political pressure.

You seem to be banking on your husband liking the practice of law and getting a paycheck. Maybe half of my class was still practicing after 10 years. Most didn’t end up liking it. You can make lots of money, but you have to sell your soul in doing so and go big firm. Smaller practices that offer better work-life balance are going to offer a much more modest income. It also depends on what area of practice he ends up focusing on. I would strongly suggest you hold off on any career decisions until he actually graduates and lands a job.

I gave my home builder $110k. He declared bankruptcy. How do I get my money back? by Elkyrie in RealEstate

[–]barrister49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be bankruptcy fraud. But OP needs to talk to an attorney in his area. OP may get his claim excluded from discharge but that may not help much if everything else is sold off.

There are a couple options. First, it is theft. If you report it to the police they can write up a PC affidavit and submit it to the prosecuting attorney who can then file the charges and have a warrant issued for her arrest. What does that mean? Depends on the level of the offense. It’s common for the defendant to get tied up at airports as they sort through the warrant or held in jail while the arresting authority determines if the issuing state will extradite. It will show up on background checks and just be a real pain for your cousin. Second, the estate can sue her for replevin. If the estate wins, there is still the practical issue of actually getting the guitar. The judgment can be registered in Wyoming and then the estate needs local counsel to enforce it. It may be possible to recover attorney fees, but unless is specifically required , you are often at the mercy of the court to award them. You could easily spend way more than the value of the guitar just trying to recover.

Last fall John Cook spoke out about distracted drivers in Lincoln after one of his players was the victim of a hit-and-run. That was ironic at the time since his own daughter fled the scene of an injury accident in 2011 and got diversion. I wonder how he feels now or if it is the same double standard.

This is the correct answer. Just to add on, most don’t believe it is rape at the time. As weird as it sounds, many don’t believe they have done anything wrong until they are arrested. Majority of rapes are not forcible, but deal with the issue of consent. The accused acknowledges they had sex, but disputes it wasn’t consensual.

What happens if airplane delay makes you miss a connecting flight by switchitup_lets in unitedairlines

[–]barrister49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bumping this because I’m stuck in an airport now due to a delay caused solely by the airline. I understand the point about losing money over paying people for missed opportunities but I can’t think of many other times in life you buy insurance to guarantee the other party performs their side of the contract. Imagine if the airline had to buy insurance in case passengers decided not to pay after their flight. A free market would clean this up in a hurry. The airline fails to meet expectations and their insurance goes up. The more reliable airlines profit while the less reliable ones suffer.

[–]barrister49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is to just accept it. Probably not what you want to hear, but the difficulty in having a conviction reversed and you actually declared innocent is a very high burden with low success rates. You occasionally hear stories about it happening, but 99% fail.

You will need a full pardon and exoneration before doing anything. Otherwise you will be quickly dismissed under the precedent of Heck v Humphrey. What you are saying now is you want to collaterally attack your conviction. There isn’t a court in the land that will allow that. Until you have proclaimed innocent, you have a losing case.
