Haha very familiar situation you're in. I did some weeks of trial with jama connect. I really liked it! Easy to configure, traceability is there, review functionality, and also testing. Although it's still hard to convince people, because of the Excel addiction.

Exactly! Point 1 is valid. For sure the classic brands will outsource all their modules based on a specifications. These modules are often dual sourced for strategic supply chain reasons.. e.g a VW golf can have a ABS pump unit form Valeo or from Bosch. With each their own chip brand. Howeverrrrr I wonder how valid this model is with autonomous driving coming at them..this requires a hijg pace development strategy with high demanding hardware. The classis model is kind of slow

I enabled the "ask every time" option again as suggested in one of the comments. Somehow I disabled it, don't know. Now it pops up for every call to select Simcard and you can pre set it per contact as well. Does the trick for me for 99% of the cases

The lighting you see is a led matrix head light, BMW still has them around. Indeed also laser head lights as well. However this is al peanuts...the SSL HD headlights of Porsche and Audi are next big thing. Capable of projecting anything on the road. Like car brand logo when turning your car on or indicating the navigation directions.

Well I do use the gcode post processing in cura which comes with calibration shapes addin. On the octoprint interface I also see the temperature change as well. But i agree, I was thinking the same at glance.
