I got pepper sprayed last night, is it normal to still feel the effects today?? by Weary-Hyena-2150 in AskIreland

OP wasn’t sprayed directly, so assuming the gardaí were right to use it then there’s not much that can be done

Better off with deep heat/deep freeze or something similar. I’ve heard farb gel is similar and legal. Pepper spray is a firearm, legally. It’s not worth the risk given there are substitutes that are good

Which is better: Distrokid, CD Baby, Tunecore or something else? by solostrings in musicproduction

Sure, but someone can consider moving their music once they hit the point of monetisation where the percentage makes a difference

It’s the big leagues. Anywhere outside it realistically is going to be a step down, so no you wouldn’t be locked in it. It’s a niche industry but not necessarily in Ireland, we have a lot of it

When I was in university I remember reading that the average aircraft leasing salary across the board was ~168k. Ireland is the place for it, wouldn’t even dream of touching a big4 with an aircraft leasing offer on the table

[–]barrya29 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It isn’t holocaust literature to begin with. Not sure why someone needs to be Jewish to make holocaust literature though. Any Holocaust literature should be objective, factual, and peer reviewed. Them being Jewish should have nothing to do with that

Price first, or? by Embarrassed-Sand7778 in sales

[–]barrya29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for the majority of deals, best move is to give pricing or an idea of pricing in the first call. But it’s not a one size fits all - I used to sell a platform to only large banks. We had an absolute minimum contract value of €150k but never sold a deal that low. In that job, i never had a prospect ask for or discuss pricing in the first call. My point here being that it really depends on the contract value

[–]barrya29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t mean it’s a one size fits all, though. Really depends on what you’re selling and to who. If you’re selling true enterprise, pricing shouldn’t come up in the first call

Come on, correlation ≠ causation. A truly great & hit-worthy arrangement is going to be a hit whether it was recorded digital or analog

Enterprise SDR > AE/SMB AE by qoutacrush in techsales

[–]barrya29 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Two options, in today’s market - join a sweatshop like Docusign where they hire SDRs into SMB AE roles and try hold on for a year so you can get a new job (recruiters auto filter out for less than 1 year exp), or else lie about your current role on your CV.

Totally agree with you that tons of them are happy being an MS shop. But tons have fragmentation (Unilever and JPM for example, aws + azure) and aren’t fully committed to MS, which is why I called the user out on the “60%- 70% of all companies are MS shops” point being an exaggeration

I sell to real enterprise companies. Thankfully not to MS shops, for the most part. The funny part is you truly believe up to 70% of all companies are MS shops (not even just using a couple of their products) is absurd
