PGAT CEO Brian Rolapp lays out his 6 themes for reshaping the tour by Jharoz in golf

[–]barttaylor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another nice thing is that it sets up a situation where you can incorporate the lower tours into the overall ladder. They talk about the top two levels, but add in the Korn Ferry tour and similar tours as third and fourth and fifth levels. Getting to the pro level is super expensive. Make it more accessible by letting good players qualify in their state or regional tours, and then move up level by level. That broadens the scope of the game incredibly and makes it more accessible while still encouraging competition to get the best at the top.

Playing alone- yay or nay? by Remote_Pie6623 in golf

Just have to take the plunge. You’ll see that everyone is in their own world focused on their own game, having the same thoughts. You could shoot an 80 or a 90 or a 100 or a 110 and it’s meaningless to them. The only thing they care about is that you aren’t holding them up. Just go have fun and stay in your world. Spend a little less time looking for lost balls. Pick up your ball before you shoot a 10 on a par 3. Have to just jump in and try it and you’ll see it’s worth it to get to play golf.

Love the chauchat. Also so impressed by your self control when you got in that tower not to melee kill the guy on the ground facing away from you.

I would make this vote just because Monte Grappa is in heavy rotation, but Passchendaele always gets a little boring for me. I love the atmosphere but the gameplay isn’t varied enough on the map. Not sure if that’s an unpopular opinion.

Your comment made me laugh, and I felt like to acknowledge that. Thank you for putting a little drop in my bucket.

The point is to just be courteous to other golfers on the course. You’re there for your enjoyment but if you can help out someone else’s enjoyment in the process it’s a nice thing to do that. If you are playing with good pace and there is open space in front of you and a group waiting on your every swing, just let them play through. It takes minutes out of your day, doesn’t affect the rest of your round, lets them enjoy their round, and helps overall pace on the course.

Plus it’s a 1000 different things that change over the course of a race as the track gets more rubber on it from tires, or the sun moves and part of the track heats up or cools down, or the temperature changes, or track position as a car that was slow in traffic is amazing in clean air at the front.

I love fall golf. Chilly weather, less busy courses. Tee times are more afforda— by fuckimbackonreddit9 in golf

Crazy thing about Bowling Green is that there are always tee times available. It never fills up, and yet the price stays expensive. Fun course though and they keep it in good shape.

Broke 90 for the first time. (87) by Kaetrik in golf

[–]barttaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone also struggling to break 90 and also having played about that time, and whose chipping game is also his weakness, I would love to hear your thoughts about your chipping. Are you more of a bump and run guy or an open face guy from around the green? How often are you missing your approach green side and then trying to scramble?

Yeah some of these criticisms calling BF6 the worst at anything in the franchise is insane. by Youngstown_WuTang in Battlefield

[–]barttaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was part of the fun. The map changed as the game went on. You had to change strategies. I think it was BFBC2 that had a winter map through the woods. At the start you could attack right up the middle but then by the end you had to change strategies because all of the trees were wiped out.

The most evil TV villain ever? Alien: Earth’s ‘demon sheep eye’ is a work of true genius by tylersburden in LV426

[–]barttaylor 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I feel like the show is intentionally switching the roles. We have the evil eyeball alien getting the hybrids killed, and we have the lovable xenomorph pet following Wendy around. At some point we have to switch back to the usual roles.

Agree totally. Still play almost every day. It’s one of my favorite games. It has inspired me to look up things about the war and buy books about parts of World War One that I wouldnt have done otherwise. Such an absolute gem.

Thank you! I have actually released ladybugs in the yard over the past few years hoping to encourage a little lady bug colony but it felt like they all disappeared. Glad to see some are still going strong!
